"He has done a really great job with this escape room. There was only one room available when we went, but there are more coming soon. The room has moving parts and some surprises which makes it even more fun. We went with our whole family, the youngest is 5 and it was challenging and fun for all of us! We did use one clue and were able to escape in time. It required team work. We will definitely plan to go back and check out his other rooms when available."
"We went to The Omega Device room. Before I review this room, I want to say that I have done many, many rooms, and my group did get out of this one with nine minutes to spare. This room looked immersive, and the tech was very cool. However, this room is painfully linear. We went with a group of eight, and me and my brother were the only ones that got the full experience of solving and discovering due to the nature of its one at a time puzzles. It was difficult, we used two clues, but we got stuck on parts of the room that never truly seemed to correlate. Usually in rooms they clarify as to whether clues are one and done, in this room they are not. We spent countless minutes looking for new content just to find we needed to reuse something that was there prior. If you are a seasoned group and want to play, I would recommend a maximum of 3 players. I will be coming back once the other rooms open, but it will be with a smaller group. Edit: Thanks for your response! I have been to 50 escape rooms, and I haven’t gotten out of 3. I apologize for that miscommunication. I try to review out of honesty, and it seems that from the other low reviews you don’t take to criticism too well. The other folks in the room are new to escaping, and I am so very glad that they enjoyed it! I am not downplaying their experience at all, I just wanted to share my own. I did not bad mouth your room in the lobby, as a matter of fact we were celebrating our success with the other group we were with. I would hope that with your eight years of experience, you could learn to take negative reviews in a way that would make you want to improve, not tear down a 20 year old with a hobby. Do not worry, I will not be returning to your other rooms, and I will be telling my friends about the experience I had. I hope you have a fantastic rest of your day!"
"Our first escape room experience and was thoroughly entertained! I went in with pretty high expectations as I love a good challenge, and just about any game I come across, and this totally delivered. We did the Omega room, and although we did not make it out, we all left with big smiles and feeling proud of ourselves! Highly recommend this location in Downtown Boone."
"Great experience! Had a great time working through the Omega. Creative puzzles and cool effects! Our group of six had two people who have done an escape room before, but the rest of us were newbies. The challenges were designed incredibly well and the puzzles were impressive. We will most definitely visit again! It was the perfect experience for spending time with our college boy on his birthday!"
"We came and we barely conquered the Omega Device. I went with my nephews and their girlfriends of which half of our group had experienced other escape rooms. We were visiting from out of state and I wished we lived closer because we would attempt every room that Mysterium produces because Omega Device was just that good! We completed this elaborate escape room with less than two minutes on the clock…What a wild ride and worth every penny. The set of this room was unbelievable. It was almost like a ride intro at a theme park. There were lasers, sliding doors, crawling spaces, interactive devices and fog. This was not your average boring escape room. The effects were spectacular. We met the owner and engineer of the room and he was very friendly and modest about his creation. He built the set himself and said he’s even working on a multi-room escape room next. Our group unanimously decided we would have to put Mysterium on our must do list when we come back to the area. Seriously, try this if you’re even an hour from Boone, NC. It’s absolutely worth the drive."
