Applebee's Grill + Bar

"It’s been about 2 months since we dined. I really don’t like writing bad reviews, but I just can’t recommend this Appleby’s. My spouse and I are local and haven’t been there in a couple years. Judging by the parking lots, the 2 similar restaurants across the street were packed for lunchtime, while Appleby’s seemed almost abandoned. We were greeted in a friendly manner and seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive. But… the entire restaurant needs an overhaul. The carpet is threadbare, the tables and seating look worn, and the atmosphere is almost bleak. Worst, for me at least, was the smell of body odor that was imbedded in the upholstery. Our meal arrived 40 minutes after ordering (there were only 2 other couples in the restaurant at the time). We ordered burgers. They were over-cooked. And just really not good at all. We left our waitress a great tip because I don’t imagine she gets many. We won’t be returning, ever."

"My husband & I just left Applebee's. Our server Rose was the only server there. She did a great job in taking care of patrons. Our food was good & also hot. The restaurant was not clean. Ladies bathroom was terrible. Husband said men's wasn't to bad. This place needs a serious cleaning & updated. No manager was on duty. Rose had worked from 10:00 am this morning & will not get off work until 10:00 pm. Give this young lady a raise or hire decent people to help her. Corporate needs to send someone in to clean this place up & get Rose help or train her for a manager position so she can hire help. I hope this place gets straightened out quick because if it doesn't the doors will be shut soon. I don't know why the Health Department hasn't shut them down until the place is cleaned & updated. We have ate at several Applebee's &.this is the first time I have complained. If I had noticed the uncleanness when we arrived we definitely would have left. If by chance you don't get shut down please get ROSE some help before you loose her."

"Our waitress was great, but everything else was mediocre. We went towards closing, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it's better during earlier hours. My steak, mashed potatoes, & green beans had good flavors, but were only warm instead of hot. My garlic butter for the steak was cold. My daughter and son-in-law enjoyed their unique Quesadilla burgers, but my daughter said it was too spicy for her. The olive green interior color and peeling wallpaper made it seem bland, whereas I usually think of Applebee's as fun and happy. I would possibly give them another try while visiting the area, since they're one of the few places that stay open later."

"Never busy, but still highly understaffed. They waitress we did have was very polite and very helpful. Food was mediocre and gave the indications of being freezer burnt. Ordered a 12 ouch steak and over half was completely fatty and inedible."
