"Usually get good food and good service. Today was more miss than hit. Food took forever to come out and when it did it was cold. Waitress never checked on us but she was new and wasn't being supported by other employees. They basically threw her to the wolves. Waited forever for check. Then thought we should pay up front. Get up front they tell us waitress has to take payment. She's no where to be found. She finally shows up cashes us out. Entire team seemed scattered with no real direction. Manager should have been leading these folks better. Table behind us got up and left. Overheard several other tables complaining. So not sure what was up with today but will have to rethink returning to this location. Hopefully Claremont will be better."

"After a horrendous 2hr drive from Charlotte in bumper to bumper traffic due to several wrecks, my bf and decided to stop in on a whim cuz we wanted real food, not fast food cuz we've gotten sick of it. Great team decision, and darn good thing that I noticed it last minute, cuz OMG! MILLION TIMES better than Bojangles where we were going, or any other fast food restaurant for that matter. You get quality, delicious food with phenomenal quick service, and the amount of food you get, you'll have enough to snack on later, so more bang for your buck. Highly recommend trying this joint out if you're in the area you won't regret it, guaranteed! And it cost just as much as it would at a fast food place so yeah it's a no brainer. Good food, great service, and inviting family atmosphere. The onion petals are the best I've ever had, and the teriyaki chicken is a mouth watering meal you'll be in love with! 5+stars"

"6/17/23: I had to change our original review after visiting last night. It was 7:30. As soon as we walked in the front door, there was a putrid smell (like sewage) everywhere. Rough smelling! We were seated in the back section of the restaurant. Two other tables were in the section. Unfortunately, a server started vacuuming while we were eating. They close at 9:00 but were vacuuming at 8:00. We’d read the negative comments about the bathrooms but didn’t notice how unkept they really were until tonight. Husband ordered the mini-hot dogs tonight, w/ house pub chips. He said they were “ok” but not as good as the hamburger sliders he previously ordered. Would not recommend the house chips. Fries were much better. I had the salad again. It was equally as good as before. I’d asked about draft beer (the sign inside the bar section had a Blue Moon beer tap) but was told they don’t have any Blue Moon. Only Budweiser and Miller products. Bummer. Anyway, the main reason our review changed was due to the aesthetics, smells, and cleanup closing work being done around us. Original review: We were in Statesville today for an appt and I looked up “restaurants around me” on Google maps. We were SO pleased with this place! Right off of I-40 but we actually drove past the street and had to turn around. Restaurant has the theme of old rail cars. Menu offers many choices for all. They have daily specials too. Nice basket of sweet rolls brought to table b4 ordering. Husband ordered the hamburger sliders w/ fries ($10) . He usually doesn’t order hamburgers anymore b/c most places don’t cook them right but he loved these! I ordered the Salad Bar (yes, it’s OPEN!) and it was amazing! Our server told us all of the items are made fresh in house. Pasta salad, potato salad, chicken salad (husband loved it, I’m vegetarian so I didn’t try it), veggies cut fresh in house. Super personable server. She said they have a 2nd location in Claremont. They have a small bar inside & pool tables too."
