"We showed up about 10 minutes to close tonight and were greeted with smiles , amazing staff and great little store with all of the neat local artisan bread, honey and interesting sodas . We will definitely be back and absolutely loved finding this little gem! If you haven’t had the tomato basil soup you have not lived! The food was so delicious too!!! Five stars but if I could rate 10 I would!"

"I cannot begin to explain how amazing this place is!!! The sandwiches are fantastic, the local products are perfect, and the staff is great. My only complaint is that I don't live closer to it. We stopped by to grab some sandwiches on our way home from a quick trip, and now I'm plotting an excuse to drive two and a half hours back. I had the caprese sandwich, and it was probably the best I've ever had. My daughter got a turkey sandwich and upon finishing it at home, asked how long it would take to drive back. And while I'm not a milk drinker normally, the Amish milk was delicious! I can't wait to be in that vicinity again, as I will definitely be stopping, even if its out of my way."

"We’re from Charlotte, but brought the family up to Sandy Mush on a day trip. Stopped here on the way out then on the way back in. Great old time country store vibe, but modernized. A step back in time, kind of. Very friendly staff. I even helped one of the owners (he had a bad thumb) load his truck with a large catering cooler. Awesome sandwiches and some things you can’t find most places. And don’t forget the milk! They had the milk today, lol. Chocolate AND regular. Very tasty. We live 150 miles away but we’ll be back next time we’re in town. If you live nearby, support these good folks, you won’t be disappointed!"

"Stopped by for a late lunch yesterday. Had Tuscan chicken paninis, potato salad and seasonal squash salad. Enjoyed all the food, especially the panini. The employees were very friendly and great service. There are a few tables inside and they brought our sandwiches over when they were ready. We were looking at a few lunch options and were glad we went to Grateful Roots."
