We waited over an hour for our food, then they rushed us out because they were closing and to top it off half my family ended up with food poisoning. So thanks Pawpaws!"

"This is a really good old time locals oriented basic BBQ joint like NC is famous for. You don't come here for fine dining and ambiance, you come for darned good solid food and real straight shootin' good folk to dine with and feel at home. Their sliced barbecue is very tasty with good smoke, and perfectly moist and tender. The hush puppies are great, Cole slaw is acceptable, and turnip greens are obviously canned, but not bad. Was disappointed they were served with just plain white vinegar, but honestly, I forgot to ask for hot pepper vinegar. The portions were ample and the prices very, very fair. Must admit I was disappointed that I saw neither fried chicken nor bbq chicken on the menu, but there are lots of choices and seafood. No doubt, we will repeat many times. Though shop-worn from age and business volume, everything in there (kitchen area, floors, tables, and bathrooms) is clean and smells good."
