"Food was ok - Cajun sampler had hard pieces of rice in it, like it wasn't all completely cooked. Other dishes were fine, but nothing really stood out. Nice atmosphere and helpful service."

"The catfish was fabulous. The steak was really good. Prices are about like any other nice place to eat. Will for sure be going back. The wait staff was good and kept drinks full. Or was a semi busy evening. The music is good and not too loud. They have a pool table. They gave a neat general store attached. I love to shop while I wait on my food. You can have a drink at the bar or get a table. The bathroom was very clean. We really liked it there. My grandson at and colored and really enjoyed himself too."

"Food was Great, our server Zach was Excellent. Nice atmosphere, we ate outside, weather was perfect. We had VooDoo pasta, they did not have Parmesan cheese so My husband said it was a little blind but still good. I had BLT cheeseburger with fries , burger was cooked perfect and it was delicious. The Sweet tea is good."

"Disappointed in my meal. Was really excited to try the brisket nachos, but they were dry and had little flavor. The brisket was tough and the cheese not even melted. I think it was supposed to come with bbq sauce, but there wasn't any. The collard greens were great, though. They have a little kick to them. I attempted to dine in but it was so chaotic and disorganized I ordered out. Service was very kind though."

"We stumbled upon this wonderful little restaurant and had a wonderful dinner. It was so good we went back a few days later. I had the chicken fried steak special, and it was the best I have EVER eaten! And I’ve had a lot in my life. The brisket was very tasty, and the barbecued pork was delicious. The beer list had a number of great brews on draft and in cans. Zack, our waiter, went out of his way to be sure our meals were perfect, so we asked for him on our second visit. It was a busier night since it was Friday, but he still managed to take great care of our table. The MLB playoff game was on TV during our first visit, and the guys at the bar were very excited and a little loud. It was back to normal for our second visit. When you are in Banner Elk, try the Bayou Smokehouse. You won’t be disappointed."
