Each time my father was hospitalized for adverse reactions to treatment, Dr. Dorkhom always stopped by and visited my dad and was still positive and reassuring. When he would come into the room, it felt like a big fresh breath of air. He’s literally a walking ray of sunshine. And that’s exactly what’s needed from an Oncologist. He slowed the cancer down by so much that my father’s life expectancy increased by so much with minimal side effects of Chemotherapy. "I was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer 18 months ago right in the St. Joe's ER. I was in shock and had no idea how to proceed. Luckily St. Joe's has incredible ER doctors and they put me in the hands of Dr. Dorkhom. Never have I met such an affable, energetic, and caring doctor. It's been a bit of a journey to get to where I am today, with a few hospitalizations and lots of ER visits. Dr. Dorkhom has visited me in the hospital and has always reacted quickly to change my treatment when the side effects outweighed the benefits of that particular chemo. He is stunningly knowledgeable but always takes house time to explain things in layman's terms that I can understand. If you are in the unfortunate predicament of needing an oncologist, please ignore the couple negative reviews from what seems like crazy people, and trust me, an actual patient of Dr Dorkhom's. He is saving my life. Yes, the chemicals are the same you can get anywhere but the life-saving judgements about how much to administer and when to change, as well as just having a wonderful, funny, and warm doctor in your corner is something particular to this place. The entire staff here is amazing. It was almost worth getting cancer just to meet these guys!"
