About Us
Dancewave, located at 182 4th Avenue in New York, is a community hub for artists, educators, and young visionaries since 1995. The institution is committed to promoting racial equity by addressing institutional and interpersonal connections with systems of oppression. Through research, critical analysis, and open conversations, Dancewave holds itself accountable to staff, community members, and stakeholders. They provide space for youth to process through their Youth Leadership Council, Regroups, and Race & Dance curriculum. The institution recognizes diversity, equity, and inclusion as an ongoing process and actively engages in this work to create systemic change for all Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).

"I have taken multiple adult dance/fitness classes here at Dancewave and I have literally loved all of them! I did Zumba, Pilates and Barre --- the instructors were top notch and the studio is comfortable. Very friendly staff and I often have seen little happy ballerinas walking out of the studio, that lends the studio a really sweet and happy vibe. Totally recommend it!"
