"We came to Vinyl tonight to celebrate a friend’s 40th birthday and had an outstanding experience, from the time we stepped into the space to the second we left. The staff was friendly in a way that felt genuine and not forced. We were checked on several times by Sebastian, the stupendous manager. We got an expert wine recommendation from Kevin, the sommelier and owner (who did not introduce himself as the owner, an act of humility, I assume). The food was some of the best I’ve ever had (this coming from a vegetarian, who mostly was just along for the ride that the birthday boy had picked). Cannot recommend this place thoroughly enough. The atmosphere they’ve created is so nicely enhanced by the vinyl records they play, not too loudly that it makes conversation challenging. Worth every penny we paid. We will absolutely be back."
"What a wonderful dining experience! My hubby and I came in for NYE dinner. We both enjoyed the cocktails, their espresso martini is spot on and nice and chilled. We shared a dry-aged bone-in strip steak with both the bone marrow butter and house steak sauce. The bone marrow butter is an absolute must! For our sides we had the broccolini and their potato pave. Both were excellent but the potato pave was out of bounds. We took desert to-go for later in our hotel room. Service was excellent and the owner is so attentive and genuine. We will be back our next time in NYC!"
"From start until finish the service and food was phenomenal. Matt started off by setting my reservation with care and ease. Then our server, Christian, was so much fun, informative about the menu, gave great recommendations, and he made you feel like you were friends for life. Outstanding all around. The food…chef’s kiss. Thank you for having me, until next time."
"A very delightful place with an amazing concept and atmosphere. The food was filled with great flavors. We had the crispy sushi and the potato croquettes for starters. As for Mains we had the fillet with asparagus side and the corn. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in NYC!"
"I wanted to love this restaurant but unfortunately for me it fell short. Great concept and cool atmosphere but the food and service were inconsistent. The appetizers were delicious and the service started out very friendly but both went downhill. We ordered the steak medium and it came out almost cold on the inside. They did refire it but unfortunately once it is served so under it can’t recover for me. It had very little seasoning. The table next to us also sent their steak back for being under. The spinach was too far from traditional creamed spinach for me. Our best bite was the wedge salad, it was delicious. When we were finished our server who was very kind and attentive had moved on to other tables and we waited a while to get our bill and then to pay. This is another one where I wish there were half stars."
