"Carnegie hill Vet was bought by a corporation. The founder retired several years ago, and the main vet, Dr.Geer (who is lovely and caring) is on maternity leave until June. I have not had consistent care for my 11 year old labradoodle since we came to the practice 3 years ago. When I questioned the manager he said that two of the vets rotate between two practices. There is no continuity of care here and I do not have confidence in this practice."
"I’m mostly posting due to lack of compassion and empathy from the staff. While Dr. Greer was great, I found it difficult to schedule appointments with her. During one attempt, the practice kept calling and rescheduling/cancelling my puppy’s appointments for times when I was at work with little notice. Then when my puppy got hit by a car in the early afternoon, they stated they were unable to provide emergency services (which is fine just don’t advertise this on the website) and referred me to AMC (which is over 30 blocks away from me, while BondVet is just down the street). They did state they had the capability to do an exam and X rays though, which is really all my puppy would’ve needed. The person on the phone even told me that they would recommend her to go to AMC even if I brought her in, which is poor medical advice when you haven’t evaluated the pup in my opinion. What really got me was the call I got from a person less than three hours later, who didn’t introduce themselves, confirming my cancellation of a preventative health plan without even asking how the puppy was doing. They’re probably overwhelmed or something but the lack of compassion towards a very worried pet owner with a hurt puppy was just egregious."
"Whoever manages scheduling / appointments at Carnegie Hill Veterinarians is a complete joke. I filled out the online appointment request on Friday, asking if there was any availability Saturday or Sunday. On Saturday I receive an e-mail saying next appt slot is Monday, along with a few times I could choose. I respond on Saturday saying that 3PM Monday would work. No response later that day. No response on Sunday. No response on Monday after I follow-up again asking if that slot had been confirmed. Do not waste your time or risk your pet's health by having their treatment delayed by this "business"."
"I'd give it 4.5 stars! Overall, we've been extremely happy with Carnegie Hill vets. The front desk and tech staff are always kind and you can tell they're animal lovers. Our rescue beagle is very scared (hides under the chairs) and they talk gently to her and offer her treats. Only small issue we've had is it can be a rotating staff of doctors (I think she's seen 3 in a year and a half?) but I'm not sure if that was just on us to request a consistent doctor. 2 out of 3 have been absolutely phenomenal, the 3rd was a little dismissive but is no longer there. Definitely trust them with your pet!"
"I have been a part of the Carnegie Hill family of Veterinarians from the time they were in a small space off of 3rd. Having always had a multiple cat household, one of my members became deathly ill. No vet would take me as they didn't know the cat, Dr. Alex Miller heard my distress and said"Bring her right over", without hesitation. From that moment on he has been a man of great compassion and love for all the pets that come through his door. He shares this space with Dr. Sasha Hilchuck who takes the lead when he's not around.. Sixteen years ago I took in some kittens that bonded with each other and became a pod. Nothing was done without the other. Over the years each one had ailments and I have had Alex walk me through when adding a new one brought a virus into my home forcing me to 24/7 force feed through a tube. The small kitten that carried the illness has died as I had to make a decision and return the kitten to petco. Mine needed far to much care. Later I took in another cat who's with me now. Each and every time he has seen my fur babies and given me solid advice. Sasha has had the sensitivity and compassion to diagnose my favorite baby and put him to sleep when there was no alternative of salvation. Lola, the last of the first pod is almost seventeen , and she has had the most problems aside from being a picky eater. She is tenacious and permits anyone to handle her , and god willing will live through this hard time. Alex see's her and has called me with results to tests and thoughts on her health. When e The staff that maintains peace and continence in the office from Jack a long time friend to the pets, to Kim, and all the others that forgive me but I don't know everyones name has been caring and taken messages and returned calls. During this pandemic this office showed its true colors by continuing to care for the pets but keeping their owners safe. Bravo! and Thank You"
