"The school is ok. I had a great time last year in 9th grade but I do have to say that there are some cons to going to this school. For example this school starts very early 7:45 is not a good time to be getting up to start school especially if you have gym 1st period. Most of the teachers really care about you but from what I can tell a lot of math teachers don’t exactly know what they’re teaching considering a lot of my friends and myself didn’t understand concepts being taught to us. I had geometry last year and I had the worse time with my teacher he didn’t teach us at all and most of us failed our regents. Thankfully I got lucky and passed and had a large group of amazing caring teachers excluding my geometry teacher. Beware though a lot of the kids in this school are homophobic and racist and they don’t hide it. If you can’t handle being picked on don’t go here. Especially if you have lunch with some ESL kids. A lot of the are rude and will talk about you behind your back in their language. And they don’t hide it either. Having patience in this school will really save you and especially be nice to your teachers. Most teachers here are amazing people even the ones that are sometimes strict in class. It’s just up to you to talk to them and have a connection with them. Also there is no AC."
"I had a 4 year nightmare in this school, I wanted to leave but I had no choice but to be suffocated by the presence of the morons. Despite that I had a few decent teachers who actually cared about me as a human being rather than a student. I would like to thank those teachers, but the rest need to reevaluate their lives and rethink themselves as teachers. Thanks for 4 years of mixed opinions."
"TERRIBLE school. Worst school in NEW YORK, by far. Students act like complete ANIMALS. You CAN NOT learn anything with the disruptive behavior. Worst of all, majority of STAFF. They do not contemplate or assist you when asked for. This school should be shut down immediately, by the Board Of Education. They have to scan you everyday for weapons or illegal objects due to the schools dreadful history. Ultimately, all these concerns have urged me and several other peers to transfer out of this "school". *WARNING - DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL .. THIS IS A GHETTO SCHOOL MADE FOR UNDER ACHIEVERS AND RUNNER UPS*"
"I had a great time at this school. I loved playing in the band. I loved working on 2 publications. The teachers were good. I had fun at this school."
"I graduated from Lincoln in June of 2006. I was there when they began the whole metal detector deal. I don't recall specifically the cause of the detectors going up. I do recall however, a student was stabbed in the lunch room, and that was after the metal detectors went up. I also remembered a big group of students protesting the ban on cell phones. There was a mini riot going on for that, police were called in with riot gear and shot some kids with rubber bullets. Another event that i can recall is the one where a student was hit in the head with a baseball bat in the locker room. Other than that, it was pretty uneventful. Tried transferring out several times, but i guess i didn't make my case clear enough. I made the best of it, made a few friends, but if i have a chance, i'd go back in time and went to a different school."
