Cohen Children's Northwell Health General Pediatrics at Rego Park

"All of my children have been patients of these providers for the past 20 years. My youngest came home early from school with a fever of 105. I immediately called the doctor to ask if I could bring her in. It was 2pm. I was told that they were booked for the day and that I should take her to Urgent Care. We get to Northwell Urgent Care and are told that there is a 3 to 4 hour wait. We told them that our child had a fever of 105 and was shaking. They took her in within 20 minutes. How sad that the Urgent Care had more concern for my child than my child's own pediatrician. Shame on them."

"My wife and I been going here for about 5 yrs. Guys beware!!!!! Management is very horrible! They don't go over policies. EX: So if your kid has health insurance and they do blood work they don't tell you if the insurance covers it or not and do it anyways and then your mail a 1400 bill! Don't waste your time here!"

"Dr Mak is the reason we go here for our son. He is 2, been coming here since he was 3 days old. I never seen another provider besides her. Dr Mak is kind and attentive. For blood work it's done next store where I guess adults get seen thru Northwell and it never taken long. Taking off one star since it's a pediatrician office but the waiting room has no TV, coloring books or something for kids to play with or do while they wait. The office staff, I think her name is Andrea is nice and always helpful I like talking to her mostly and another lady with dark hair. There is a older Caucasian lady, who has more of an unpleasant attitude or seems like she doesn't want to be there. She always closer to the back when I gone but takes over if nobody is there. If the staff moral is low, upper management should be doing nice things for their staff to boost it up this is pediatrics!!!! Kids = happy? The nurses we get is always kind and in good spirits!"

"Went in for a periodic preventative visit (fully covered by insurance) . Instead, received a bill for a diagnostic office visit (only partially covered by insurance). Asked office to explain why visit was not coded as a periodic preventative visit and given the runaround. Besides that, doctors and nurses have been okay. Have not needed to reach out because of emergency so not sure how they perform under those circumstances."

"The receptionist at this location, Barbara Poje was nasty to me. I called in to reschedule my son’s appointment but instead of accommodating my request she was outright RUDE and asked me to come the day I was scheduled if I wanted to see the doctor even after explaining that we won’t be able to make it. She did not reschedule or let me speak with the doctor or talk about having the doctor call me back when they are free, She hung up on me. I wouldn’t have left a bad review if this was the first time. She was nasty even in the past while we were unable to provide her with insurance information when we took our newborn for his visit. We have 60 days to enroll our child into a plan and she had all our information including our insurance IDs yet she was nasty to me demanding for my son’s insurance ID number while my newborn was sick with jaundice and I felt threatened by her because she made it seem like they may not see my son and was rude to me while i didn’t have access to the number, don’t think she has a basic understanding of how these things work. That’s not the experience you want to have postpartum. This is the worst experience I’ve had with a receptionist in my whole life and it’s ironic that it’s a pediatrics facility where you’d expect staff to be kind and empathetic. Our doctor at this facility is great so are the other receptionists and nurses! But I wouldn’t want to continue going here because of this nasty receptionist who is inconsiderate."
