"I was recommended by a friend, so I bought my very first gun at Davis, Ruger Mini 14. Price was very fair, on par with the cheapest you could find on the internet. I told them straight out it was my first gun. Tiffany (the owner) and her employees were EXTREMELY helpful and understanding. Made me feel right at home, like my best friend was helping me. Pointed me in the exact direction I wanted to go. I had originally went in for for a shotgun, but so glad, after our conversations, that I went for a semi auto. As a NYC resident, it’s the closest you can get to an AR. I wouldn’t had been able to participate in matches at my range on Staten Island with just a shotgun, which is what you need to become a member with a key. Matches are only with rifles or pistols. If for some reason anyone, like the commenters before, had an issue at the store or with a purchase, it’s because of the myriad of laws they have to deal with.
