"I was in their psych unit twice and both times they failed me with connections to out patient care. In the unit, all the staff ignored everyone and played on their phones the entire time. They completely disregard everything I told them about after care. Stay away from Bryn Mawr hospital. They fail you."
"I had the worst experience with Dr. Joseph Katz in the psychiatric ward. It is shameful the way people with mental health issues are treated. He was condescending and rude and refused to do a psychiatric evaluation initially. He only begrudgingly did one after the nurse asked him to return. He made it very clear he didn't think I belonged there. I requested another psychiatrist and was told that was not possible. They ought to be ashamed of the way they treat people there."
"I came here last fall d/t a migraine. Shortly after discharge, I started experiencing vomiting, diarrhea, a low-grade fever, confusion, sweating, shaking, etc. I felt that it was a reaction to one of the IV medications I received during the first visit. I went back to the ER and attempted to explain to the secretary that I was having a reaction to one of the medications. She cut me off mid sentence and told me to put on a mask (obviously the most important thing at the moment) After I saw the nurse, I sat in the waiting room for an hour and a half. There were hardly any people in the waiting room. The dizziness and abdominal pain were so bad I laid on the floor in between running to the bathroom to vomit/have diarrhea. I was shaking and sweating. I was so delirious I couldn't even recall the daily medications I take. My fiance spoke to the nurse several times and he came over once to "assess" me. He basically told my fiance that there were no rooms available and there was nothing he could do. No urgency or concern for the situation. I was left there to lay on the floor and cry. While this was happening, a homeless man was sitting in the kid's area talking to himself and eyeing people up as security looked on (for whatever reason). When I finally went back to the room, the PA told me she thought it was food poisoning even though my fiance ate the exact same thing for dinner and I started feeling this way shortly after discharge. We told her this and she dismissed it. I ended up being there for several more hours until I finally went home. I was so shocked and horrified by their negligence that I called the Department of Health after my visit. The patient advocate said they were retraining staff so they recognize that patients "shouldn't be lying on the floor." The medical director was also involved. People can die from adverse reactions and it was completely ignored and dismissed. The PA told me that "I've never heard of someone having a reaction" to the medication I was given. I work in healthcare. That's a completely ludicrous thing to say. People can have adverse reactions to any medications. Hopefully things have changed, but I wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone. I have never been in the midst of such cold, heartless people in my life."
"In 2012, they broke the law to keep me there, lied to me, and left me with diagnosed ptsd as a direct result of their actions. They had me sign legal documents when I was too intoxicated to know what I was signing. When I asked what I was signing, they insisted it was nothing important, but in fact I was signing myself into their care with only their permission to be released. My parents had to threaten legal action to have me released. During my stay there, they forced me to take all sorts of medications that I did not want to. They traumatized me in a way that I am still recovering from 11 years later. They have made my mental illness 200% stronger. As a result, I have suffered for the last 11 years from an intense phobia of hospitals and medical staff, on top of my other illnesses. Shame on this "hospital." More like a clown house. Do NOT send your loved ones there for mental health issues unless you want to permanently traumatize them."
"Room 4436 The worse hospital. My friend has been in the hospital for few days and her bathroom has not been cleaned, and trash has not been picked up. I mentioned to the staff nursing front desk last night severao times and no one from cleaning has done anything. Today I spoke with someone from nursing front desk at 1100a and it's 2:47p still room has no service. I checked few rooms and they are cleaned. My friend had a serious surgery and this is unacceptable."
