"I had my 25th Birthday Party at Rumpus Room and I cannot talk highly enough about this experience. First, I was searching high and low for a venue to host about 30-50 people for my party. I got in contact with the owner Gabriel and he was absolutely remarkable and stood out compared to other bars and venues in Bowery/LES. He was transparent, professional and extremely helpful throughout the planning process. He answered every single one of my questions and was amazing with communication therefore mitigating any pre-party planning stress. I chose the 2-hour open bar package with the VIP area and had about 50 people attend. The space was perfect, the bar was so fun, the staff was extremely friendly and overall it was the perfect experience. All my guests had a fun time and also enjoyed the venue which also included a Photo Booth! If you're looking to host any kind of event at a fun dance bar.. this is definitely the place. Thank you so much to Gabriel and the Rumpus Room team for an amazing birthday party!"

"If I could give zero stars I would. Literally dead place and charge $10 and don’t refund you for no one being in there. Manager was rude and said he’s straight up a thief. Old saggy man who should’ve stayed home. Check out how the owner replies to previous reviews. Complete nut job. Looks like a 5 year old runs this joint. Close down asap."

"Place is a scam. The bouncer wanted a $10 cover at the door and charged me 30+. The bartender gave themselves a $30 tip on a $20 tab after I tipped them $8. Tried calling to get receipts and never heard back. Besides being a tasteless tourist trap it is also blatantly dishonest. Go somewhere else. Edit: hilarious watching whoever runs their account attack anyone who leaves a review detailing a bad experience. Instead of typing paragraphs maybe you should focus on providing good service."

"10/10 The Rumpus Room has got it. We had our joint birthday after party here. I hadn't been here in two years, so I truthfully was a bit nervous about it holding true to my memory. It blew us away, and we stayed way longer than we had planned! John and everyone there were extremely welcoming. We rented out a table and were able to party the night away. The lovely woman behind the bar is my favorite! She knows how to pour a drink and how to keep it flowing. I will be back whenever I can."

"The name says it all.. Rumpus Room, yes, it is just a room! If you walk in expecting a big club , this is not the place. They charge a cover at the entrance , around $10-$20,it feels like they do that so they make money even if ppl do not stay longer or walk out soon. Having said that the music is great and fun place to hang out, but wasn't as busy on a Saturday night as we expected at almost 11.30pm so we decided to move on."
