"SOB’s is a legendary venue that has performances of a wide variety of musical tastes. The drinks were great, had the wings, which were surprisingly, very good. The DMX tribute was excellent! The DJ, the performances, and most of all the vibe was perfect. You will never go wrong, stopping by to hear your favorite artist perform."
"SOBs is a throwback! This place is iconic and never gets old. Have seen some great artists perform here. Have eaten some good food here. Have had after work drinks here in my younger days. Recently saw my fave Yaya Bey here!"
"lyn lapid was great, her vocals were amazing and I enjoyed the concert. that being said, the actual venue is far than ideal. the smell of cigarettes and alcohol truly felt suffocating, but I could understand that as the ventilation probably isn’t the greatest, and there’s nothing SOB can do about that. which is fine. however, the workers were constantly flashing their cellphone lights to get through, and I’m trying my best to understand their point of view because maybe they’re told by management to go back and forth in order to complete their shift tasks. but it definitely took away from the whole experience as they cut through the crowd almost the entire time. lastly, I’ve only been to one other concert, so this may just be the case across the board, but the speakers were so insanely loud. It was equivalent to a rock concert, averaging 90-100db. I value my hearing, so I unfortunately left due to the unbearable sound mixing, which is a bummer because lyn was really great. I’m not sure if the sound guy is from the musicians or the establishment though, so there’s that. overall, I’d rank this place a 1.5/5 but since everyone either reads 1/5 or 5/5 reviews, I’m unfortunately rounding it down. maybe it’s not that deep, but it was my brother’s first concert and it really sucked because he thought it was too loud in there as well."
"SOBs is amazing. I’ve seen a number of legendary general admission performances in this venue over the years. The small space provides an intimate and up close experience for all attendees. Drinks are less than a lot of other venues I’ve visited in the area. Hope to see more great hip hop performances here is the future. Hope"
