L’Avenue at Saks

"Outstanding service. Sexy and serene atmosphere. Fantastic food. What more can you ask for in a place? Well, I guess you could also ask for high end shopping if that appeals to you as this place with its own entrance and elevator to 9 (not easy to navigate once onside which is part of the charm) is part of Sak’s Fifth Avenue and you can head right in after lunch or an early dinner. I love this place and highly recommend it. There aren’t many places in NY where the tables are far enough apart and music isn’t blaring. Their staff in also incredibly trained and efficient. Go. You won’t be disappointed. Did I also mention how great the drinks are?"

"Tucked away on the top floor of a department store, this dining oasis feels remarkably private. From our window seat, the Rockefeller Building was in full splendor, alongside the twinkling Christmas tree and the ice skating rink—a truly magical backdrop. The culinary standout, Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and a touch of caviar, was nothing short of amazing. It's a venue that effortlessly blends sublime views with a memorable dining experience."

"Not sure why this isn't mentioned. You won't be able to see the tree from any table (it's only visible while standing) and if you'd like to take a picture you'll unfortunately have to bother folks who are seated near the windows (but can't see the tree seated). Then, service is uncaring at best. Here is a good example of that. This dessert only works when the chocolate is hot, not cool and semi solid. No cares given."

"The most incredible dining spot in busy Rockefeller Center area. Perched on the 9th floor of Saks Fifth Avenue, L’Avenue offers a great view of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree from its windows. The food is excellent and the desserts are to die for. Try the Miso Salmon and the Saks Smores. The servers are friendly and courteous and the restaurant is elegant. Do not go to the touristy restaurants near Times Square. Check out the elegant l’avenue for French American cuisine with service and style for the same price range. The staff made our December birthday celebration extra special."

"Such a classy restaurant on the top floor of Saks. There’s an entrance on the North side of the building. Walk down a beautifully carpeted hall to their grand salon. Service is impeccable. All of the dishes are presented beautifully and taste amazing to match. We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the dumplings were of all items. The mashed potatoes were so buttery and the filet mignon was perfectly cooked. You cannot skip dessert as these are some of the most beautiful and decadent items on their menu. While we waited for our food I took some time to explore the bar and check the views. Enjoy!"
