"We had room 20B. 13'x13' room. Claustrafobic as hell. Dumpy! They took a older home and made a bedroom into a hotel room. When we got there the window ac unit was froze up. The bathroom window was wide open. The shower was a closet that got turned into a shower. After 1st night wife had an allergy attack that sent us to the Dr.s. Picture 5 was the dust on the floor, parking lot was where the seagulls made a mess of the dumpsters and crapped all over the cars. We had a 5 night stay. i tried to get some money back as we left after 2 days. We stayed at another hotel and ate the 3 days we already paid. There has to be some fire codes that are here."
"My reservation showed a standard double room (normally means 2 beds), plus I noted needed 2 beds. I get the key and go to the room and it is just one bed no other furniture and a bathroom. Does not look anything like the standard room shown online. I went to front desk and I was told I would need to upgrade to a suite for 100 more a night for 2 beds or pay 20 additional for a queen/king bad room. Just what I wanted to do, was sleep in the same bed as my father when I booked a 2 bed room. I asked for my money back and told no refunds. I cut my losses and drove the 4 hours back home. The plaster is falling off the walls/ceilings and the electric is poor condition in the building. it is an old wood famed building with a restaurant on the first floor. If it caught fire, it would be a fire trap with no sprinklers or fire extinguishers. As a Civil Engineer, just stay away! I just wasted a day of my life today 7/27/23. Calling the credit card company now, called Agoda, at this point no help from them. The online booking sites in general need to have some inspections done to the hotels before allowing them on their sites."
"Oh, how to start? I did not hate it. I personally would stay here again. It is close to the beach. The veranda is wonderful to catch the ocean breeze. The staff is friendly. The building is old. There is no elevator, but I got plenty of exercise going up and down those 3 flights. The bathroom was tight and the doorknob fell off as soon as we got to the room. Luckily we are all family and respectful of each other's need for privacy. The beds are VERY comfortable. The ac units in the windows blow cold. They could have more places to hang towels and swim suits. I think all of the rooms have different layouts. The pool was a comfortable temperature. My 7yr old had no complaints. I did read other reviews that didn't give this place a great rating. I grew up having to make the best of the situation. This place is not horrible, neither is it the best. I enjoyed my stay."
"Upon reading the reviews of this place, I was especially skeptical about our stay. My boyfriend and I had a 2 night stay planned before our family would join us for the remainder of the week in a house. I’m so glad we had some faith based off the good reviews because we really ended up enjoying our stay in this hotel. It was super close to both the boardwalk and the town. Only a few blocks from our favorite breakfast spot “The Chatterbox.” While it is out dated in some aspects, it was very clean, not a single trace of a bug. It reminded me of my families shore house growing up. Our room was also very tiny, but that didn’t bother us at all because we only planned on sleeping and resting there. The parking was very convenient (we did get lucky and got a very close spot and just stayed parked throughout our stay…side note: on the day of checkout, you can stay parked until 3PM which is very helpful!!) The veranda out front was so beautiful, both during the day and at night and it had the most comfortable chairs. We had a corner room, which was also really nice because it was quiet and we woke up to bright sunshine (we like that) as we had 3 windows. The walls are thin (again the building is old) so you do hear doors closing, but not much more than that. At night we could hear people on the street and cars beeping, but we didn’t mind it, it was a nice white noise. I would definitely give this place a chance. I can’t say much about the pool or other amenities, as we didn’t utilize them, but for a 2-night stay, as a couple, it was perfect! We would definitely stay here again."
"Stayed here for two nights. At first I was a little scared after reading some reviews but lean into it and you will see how wonderful this place is. So close to the ocean, the girl at the front was wonderful, right across from an amazing ice cream place. Add in there is a quiet pool for when you need a break from the ocean. The only thing I found was that our washroom was in a little need of repair but it didn't ruin our stay. The best part of this hotel? there is a wonderful veranda with comfortable furniture. I spend a whole afternoon just relaxing up there. We never had any bugs as other posters indicated. It is an older building so you do hear stuff from the halls but everyone was really respectful."
