"DO NOT STAY HERE! Here is a 100% honest account of my experience at the Red Roof Inn Freehold, NJ Housekeeping knocks on the door 1/2 hour before check out, and will start calling quarter of demanding pay for another night or to return keys for check out. This happened both mornings of our stay. (We stayed 2 nights). The shower handle (in room 216) is not attached. It falls off while turning shower on/ changing water temperature & is heavy enough to cause grave harm. After leaving: 1. I am being continuously denied the name of the owner or any access to speak to the owner. 2. Was charged $58. for towels. When I called to inquire, he said that I used the towel to clean up a coffee spill and should have called him for old rags. The towels were not new, and will not refund the $58. The coffee that was spilled was the coffee provided in the room and spilled because the glass disc in the microwave is unsecured, causing anything on top to spill. 3. Extremely rude and unprofessional “manager” named Rehan. Claims to be the manager and that I cannot speak to the owner. When I asked when the owner would be available he tells me “in more than 15 days” and that the owner is on vacation. However, the previous day was told the owner would be in at 11am. I tried to talk to Rehan for a solution but was unable to. He yelled at me and told me I was beat and to leave a review. Called corporate, will see what happens."

"The Front Desk charged me a deposit of $50 and stated. "It's usually $100, but I'll only charge $50". I learned a few days later, $25 was kept from my deposit for "missing pillows and stained sheets". I am not responsible for either. This is fraudulent. I was initially given a room that would not lock from the outside. I did not need the given key card to enter, just needed turn the door handle. This means I could not leave my room and secure my own belongings. Nobody was at the front desk when I noticed shortly after check-in (~5pm). I ended up leaving my belongings in my car. I returned around between 10-11pm, nobody was at the desk still. I called an after hours phone number to have me switched to a new room. The employee denied that my door was unlocked until I brought him to the door and he saw it unlocked first hand."

"My boyfriend and I traveled to the area for a wedding nearby. We were traveling with our dog, and this hotel was pet-friendly, which was quite limiting in the area. We were happy to find a place so close to the venue. Unfortunately, it was filthy and an overall uncomfortable experience. The floors were covered in dirt like they hadn't been cleaned in god knows how long and were lifting with sharp edges. Fortunately, we avoided injury there, though I came close on two occasions. The sheets were terribly stained. There was black hair around the sink, so obviously that had not been cleaned. The plastic stand with hotel info on it was used by a prior guest or a worker to smush a large bug and apparently preserve it, as no one thought to clean or remove that. Ironically, that plastic stand with the smushed bug was placed right next to the tip envelope. The next morning, as we were loading up the car, a woman from housekeeping said, "Namaste" as she walked toward me and I wished her a great day ahead. She then proceeded to stand behind me repeatedly yelling, "My tip, my tip." This is extremely unprofessional and quite frankly comical after the filthy and unpleasant experience we had just last night. Not to mention, we had paid $120 for this one-night stay. So, no, we definitely did not give her a cash tip. But, if this establishment would like a more productive tip, here's one: CLEAN YOUR HOTEL ROOMS AND RAISE YOUR STANDARDS. This is disgusting and you should be embarrassed to operate this business. Should we find ourselves in this area again, our response will be, "Namaste... anywhere else.""

"Overall a good experience, it's just an older hotel. The outside is a bit run down and looks like it hasn't seen an update in 25 years. The rooms and bathrooms though are decently updated. You can hear a decent amount of road traffic in the rooms. The free wifi wasn't that strong, and don't lose the room key, they reuse them. Our family had a decent stay and as long as you know what type of room you're getting ahead of time you'll be fine."

"We stayed for one night at this place and honestly i was expecting worst based on reviews I read. However, our room was clean, no bad smell at all, sheets were clean I checked a mattress also and nothing. Bed was comfy and air conditioner was working properly. My only issue was the towels. Bath towels were old and already yellow from multiple washes. So I would definitely suggest investing in some new towels. Other than than place was good for the price and I know I will come back again. But bringing my own towel next time."
