"The hotel smelled of garbage as soon as you walked in. It wasn’t just a one time issue. Everytime we entered, the smell permeated. The breakfast was less than appetizing, the sausage was so hard I couldn’t get my fork through it. Our bathroom shower drain was clogged from the first day we got there, filling up with water within minutes. No complaints on the rooms themselves besides the shower. There was also only one working elevator which made for longer wait times unless we took the stairs. I will not be back. I unfortunately went against my normal hotel habits and booked with the Marriot company. Hilton is far superior and I will not make that mistake again."
"I don't typically review, but I felt it was necessary this time. I'm from upstate and wanted to just take an overnight or two trip down to the city to see the lights, etc. But in being from the city I know the expense and irritation I consistently feel when I stay at hotels. Plus we were mostly in Manhattan and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on the stay. I must say, I don't understand that bad reviews, I was nervous about choosing the hotel, but after my stay I'm really glad I did. The room was clean, fresh, checked the mattresses, no bugs, no nothing. Lobby is pretty, and staff is very helpful and friendly. Jordan and Giovanna were very kind during our stay. Giovanna even pointed out to us that right across the street literally like 15 feet away, there's a round trip bus that'll take you from jersey to the city. I thought that was especially helpful, round trip is like 9 bucks a person, and kids under 11 are 5 or 4, it was nice since it ended up being the same 30 you spend in tolls going back in forth, not to mention the insane parking situation in Manhattan were not only is there never a spot, but parking is 15 for two hours or 30/40 for 3?!?! Outrageous. So the second day we die the bus and it was a life saver it drops you right at the port authority near times Square. So overall I enjoyed the stay, the breakfast was mid, but for free, plus we got down there late, can't complain. Bathrooms were also very clean ans fresh, good floors, rooms looked newer and not musty at all, plus the shower curtain was so clean and that's such a big ick at most hotels. Anyways, glad I took the chance will be staying again for sure, check in and check out was very pleasant. And for $150 you can't beat it with the time of the year and convenience. Thanks for a great stay!"
"This hotel is just ok. It’s worth the price. Our experience has been smooth. Just one little thing down is there is a group of middle school students taking the full dining room in the morning and we stood there including a 5 yr old for 20 mins without anybody wanting to vacate a table even they are done eating. No complaint to the teenagers, but 1/3 of them are adults teacher like people and they even did not try to be considerate. There was also one table taken by bags. Talked to front desk lady and she apologized and also checked conference room for us but also occupied by the same group. I know this may be the group’s issue but would suggest hotel to do better on handling groups. Maybe to advise beforehand other customers? Or advise the group to only take half tables and take turns? There is something could be done better for sure."
"The good… Was able to get early check in which is great. Friendly staff. Close to American Dream Mall. The bad…. Out dated and very dirty. When I checked in there is only 1 working elevator, this was a huge pain point. When I got in the elevator the first time, I look down on the ground and there’s a huge pile of spit, I will say a wonderful cleaning lady noticed this and cleaned it up with a napkin immediately. My room was disgusting, I wouldn’t even walk barefoot or in my socks, thankful to have had brought slippers. You have stains on chairs, the bedding, wallpaper coming off the walls. Poor lighting, half the channels on the tv did not work. The ac/heat unit was filthy and so loud I couldn’t even sleep with it turned on. Paper thin walls, I could literally hear snoring in the room beside me. The worst part about this room besides the dirty and outdated aspect was it smelled like urine in the room. Each evening when I returned from work, I would open my room to a smell of pee. It was gross. I slept in sweatpants and a sweatshirt each night cuz I was so grossed out. For the remainder of the week I booked at SpringHill Suites which is right up the road. They need to really renovate here. I came here for business and after working long hours I was so looking forward to some relaxation and was unable to do so here"
"The continental breakfast was very good: both hot and cold food withy a variety of choices. My room was disappointing to me because, due to mobility issues, I was not able to access the shower which came with a bathtub with a significant height. It would have been nice to have coffee in the foyer. To me it seemed that amenities were at a bare minimum."
