"There is no venue like Gymnopedie. We hosted our wedding celebration here a few months ago and had an unforgettable, unique, Brooklyn-only experience--in the basement of a historic church. Descending the stairs into Gymnopedie is like being spirited away into a strange, immersive fantasy world, where you can be as creative as you want, as imaginative as you like. We had usual wedding fare--catered food, DJ setup and dance floor, tables and chairs, a wedding "altar," and vignettes for photo shoots featuring furniture, lights, and props already owned by the space; we were also able to bring our own items in. Gymnopedie comes with its own vibe, charm, and environment, but the space is adaptable and customizable to a generous extent to fulfill your specific needs. Andrew, the genius behind the space, was not only helpful and accommodating; he also offered his own creative suggestions that helped us to craft and put together the perfect night. The space will really give back to you what you give it, and I can imagine so much potential for a whole range of quirky events. We're so glad to have a part of our history here!"
