"BEST RESTAURANT IN NYC! Daimu is the best host and waiter we have ever had!!!! Truly a gem. So kind. So funny. So helpful. Plus the food is incredible and you truly feel like you’re transported to the streets of Japan. Chef Yokota is a master at his craft and the experience is truly one of a kind and very special. Can’t wait to come back for the next celebration!"
"A fantastic hidden gem in the East Village. They have just 6 seats and three seatings per night. The vibe is nice and intimate. The owners Ari, her husband Atsushi (Chef), and manager Daimu are spectacular people. Daimu in particular was the highlight of the dinner - he has a great energy and stellar service. For the uninitiated, this spot is like a sushi omakase but focused less on fish and more tempura. We had ~14 dishes while were were here and our service lasted a little under 3 hours. Would highly recommend if you want a culinary experience!"
"Best waiter ever, and some of the prettiest food I've had. I felt transported to Japan for the couple of hours of the meal. The waiter was very helpful, explaining the food thoroughly and advising me on how to best eat it. The chef worked alone in the kitchen producing one dish after another with lots of care. The wagyu beef was delicious, though I was a bit jealous of the default dish other people got, because it looked really good too. The restaurant is tiny, only six seats at the counter, which makes it cozy, though I wouldn't call it intimate since everyone can see and hear each other."
"There’s only two places i know of that does tempura omakase. So this is an experience you won’t be able to get elsewhere. Every tempura dish was so perfectly cooked. They had this amazing tempura sauce to dip it in that wad addicting. Lastly, the service was unparalleled. The server/host loves his job and you can really tell. Definitely recommend this for a special occasion."
"Best Japanese dinner experience I had in NYC. The restaurant is small which makes the atmosphere quiet and intimate. The entire dinner was about two and half hours. Everything is so fresh. The waiter would tell u detailed info about the ingredients and their recommendations about the way to taste the food."
