Omakase Shihou (Shiro) - Upper West Side

"What an amazing Omakase experience in NYC! From the ambience, service and quality of the food- it’s 5 star. After checking out few reviews, I was still doubting if this omakase would be worth it. So glad we came to experience this restaurant. There is $95 menu and $ 115 premium menu. 4 appetizers and 10 sushi, hand roll, miso soup and dessert were included. We went with premium menu and added extra: A5 wagyu, truffle and uni plus Toro hand roll. Tuna appetizer, oyster shooter w uni, hamachi were wonderful starters. Loved uni and ikura mini donburi. Smoked flavor was infused. Out of all 10 pc sushi, I loved Toro with truffled caviar, scallop and ebi. Hokkaido Uni was so sweet and amazing. Our server Abbie was so professional and friendly and made our dining experience exceptional. Mochi dessert was simple and delicious. After this meal, I planned trip to go Kyoto and Osaka to taste authentic omakase. Great for special occasion or date night. Highly recommend this place."

"This was a delightful experience! The service and the place are wonderful, but the food is beyond description. Every dish is a work of art, some of astounding complexity. Our compliments to the chef! This experience reminded us of a place we went to in Kyoto. It almost felt shocking to step out into New York on the way out. "This was such a good experience. I had been looking forward to omakase in New York, and honestly this probably was the highlight of my trip. Our server, Kei, made the experience so much better, she was funny and entertaining. It was also a really good deal for $105, but I never felt like I wasn’t getting quality, fresh ingredients. The in-house pickled ginger, and top tier service have really made this a meal to remember. I would recommend Omakase Shihou to anyone who is looking for a quality experience eating sushi in New York."

"Great meal with incredible service! The fish and seafood were all very high quality and super flavorful! We got a good mix of oyster, scallop, sweet shrimp, salmon, tuna (akami & otoro), golden eye snapper, wagyu, sea bream, striped jack, uni, mackerel and more! There were maybe just 2-3 pieces that didn’t really stand out to me but everything else was incredible! The staff was super kind and attentive. We also got to try black throat sea perch which was amazing!! For $155 per person it’s a great value in terms of the quality pieces you get. Highly recommend!"
