"Tastes like Japan. The selection of fish was fresh, the black cod was succulent, the octopus appetizer was tender and coated with delicious sauce. The seaweed salad had a good combination of seaweed and the dressing was perfect. Forgot to take pictures of all the food. But the octopus and tempura and a portion of the seaweed salad is there."
"I've had sushi at various places in NYC and Los Angeles. I've had sushi in Osaka and Kyoto. The rolls I had at Kanoyama were better than most any sushi I have ever had. The fish is so incredibly fresh and light. Be prepared to pay premium prices, even for NYC, but the food was SO good. The service was friendly and efficient."
"Food 5/10 Very mid sushi. Large slabs but they tasted too fishy, and it wasn’t even at a cheap price either. Lowkey feel like my school cafe could do better. Was quite disappointed with what we got. The gyoza was tasty though. The sushi platter for two came with three rolls and nine nigiris. We had to dip into soy sauce ourselves, but the nigiri came with a little bit of wasabi, but I don’t think it was enough to cancel out just how fishy everything was. The rice was also hard and not very flavored. Atmosphere 6/10 Typical Japanese restaurant, mid vibes. Service 6/10 It was fine I guess."
"it’s alright. Think the apps tasted better than the sashimi platter service was mid considering elevated prices/ Michelin"
"My friends and I came in for dinner on a Friday night. We were able to get seating outside (heated) without a reservation which was a plus, but the wait to get the food was terribly long—over an hour. We got the regular sushi set, sushi delux set, etc. The food was decent, but because the wait was so long, it was hard to enjoy. The service was also not great. I suspect this may be because they seemed short staff, which I have empathy for, but it did make the dining experience less enjoyable."
