"Average taste, good price, average portions. Tried one of the chicken options to go. Everything tasted passable, did not have high expectations to begin with. Given the price for the neighborhood, the portion size was decent."

"The worst food I have ever had in the city . We ordered shrimp teriyaki combo but they gave chicken instead of Shrip. Didn't even bother to inform us. The chicken tasted like garbage. It was not fresh, salty and not cut properly. They put food in the box like they threw the food. Didn't add the vegetables, even though it was in the combo menu. Never ordering again from them. Total waste of money."

"If you are in Manhattan Time Square area and have gotten tired of eating Burgers, fries, and pizza and are looking for another affordable, healthier and tasty option for lunch or dinner, go to Sakura of Japan. The portions are big, and super flavorful. We ordered the chicken and shrimp teriyaki over rice with veggies. Food is not precooked and they make it when you order it. It’s all fresh. Meals are priced well too! Great value for the price and the large serving of food."

"The food here is delicious. Loved it. It's not an Indoor restaurant but more of a window service kind of thing. They sometimes have one table set up outside for eating but it's usually always taken. The prices are about $9 - $11 per meal depending what you get. I had the Teriyaki Shrimp and it was amazing. Will definitely be coming back to try the Chicken. They are Cash Only, I am not sure if that's changed recently though."

"Great little cash only counter serve Japanese food establishment located off of 8th Ave in midtown NYC. Known for their Teriyaki chicken, this place is perfect to pick up a lunch at a reasonable price. Their menu also includes shrimp teriyaki and a double meat combo special with a drink for $10. Definitely would recommend this place to pick up a lunch and bring back to the office as there is no seating available."
