"The space is clean, quiet, and smells so relaxing. @tattooist.yeonnie worked with me and was amazing! Booking over email was easy, and she was communicative the whole time. She worked with me to get exactly what I wanted. She emailed me aftercare instructions and an image of the tattoo before wrapping soon after the session. I love this tattoo and definitely recommend her and this studio!"

"I had an amazing experience at Area 6 with Tattooist Yeonnie! It was my first tattoo and I made my appointment with her over insta dms and she was totally professional and very knowledgeable. I was honest with her about anything pertaining to the tattoo and she offered advice and instructions based on my questions like a pro. When I got to the studio, she went about it very smoothly and I am so happy with the end result! the studio is very clean, very aesthetic, and very comfortable :)) Yeonnie delivered and I am so glad I came to her for my very first tattoo. "Me and my sister got tattoos in May 2023 from Seoyeon at Area 6 Tattoo. We are from Chicago and it was our first time being tattooed, but we together have a total of 15 piercings so we are familiar with proper hygiene and such when dealing with piercings/needles. Nevertheless, we did have some questions with this being our first tattoo. My mom also came with us and asked most of the questions. The first thing we noticed is that the state license on the wall was outdated. When we asked the artist about that, she seemed annoyed and told us that her updated license was by her chair and we could go look at it if we wanted. We also asked about what kind of needle sterilization they use. After questioning this, the artist said, “I’ve tattooed over 700 people and no one has come back saying they got an infection.” However, she did then show us the packaged needle and how to ensure it is sterile. Then, we noticed that Seoyeon had to leave the studio to go into the hallway where there was a bathroom in order to get to a sink to wash her hands before tattooing us. I used this bathroom myself and there were no towels, so you have to use your washed hands to open the door from the bathroom and then another door to the studio - rendering them no longer sterile. She laid the stencil on me, then she put gloves on. She prepared the table to begin tattooing and was about to start the tattoo, when my mom stopped to ask if she could change her gloves as she had just touched a lot of equipment/tools and was about to use the same ones to tattoo. She changed her gloves, and the tattooing was fine. She also never asked for me or my sister’s ID, which we thought was very odd especially since my sister just turned 18 and she wouldn’t have known our ages prior to the appointment anyway. The only aftercare instructions she provided were in regard to the dermshield. I went to my piercer at my local tattoo shop and told her all of these things, and she was absolutely flabbergasted and said that it is very possible that there is an infection risk with these practices. I don’t typically write reviews, but I think hygiene is the most important thing when considering a tattoo artist and I would never go back to this shop. *EDIT*: Last, after the shop’s response, my overall assertion is that client’s should be welcomed to and feel comfortable asking questions, especially about hygiene. A sterile environment cannot be maintained when the artist has to touch 2 doorknobs before re-entering the facility, and that is just a fact. As an aside, I work for a healthcare regulatory agency, so I am well aware of hand hygiene protocols. The artist seemed to have taken it personally when we asked questions and we felt the responses we received were unprofessional. We thought it was unfortunate that this was our first experience with a tattoo, and I hope that the shop uses this to improve any future client’s experiences."

"super cool and amazing experience at this studio! working and coordinating with tattoist yeonnie for my tattoo was super easy and she delivered exactly what i envisioned. the studio was really clean, and had a nice sitting area for my boyfriend to wait at while it was happening. they even have wifi available! i was offered mutliple pillows for comfort to get my ankle into the right position, which was so thoughtful ! the other artists there were so nice too! overall really positive experience and would recommend getting a tattoo here!"
