"I’ve been getting my haircut at Balkan Barber for 5 years now, and they’ve never disappointed! They’re absolutely the best, and 100% a must-go. My barber is Eric, but all the team is amazingly skillful as well, and will welcome you like family! I’m moving 30 min away from Jersey City, but Balkan will still be my place to go when I need a haircut!"

"I've been going to John for almost a year and had no complaints until the last couple of months. I'm not sure what exactly happened, but I have been dissatisfied with the services and the quality of the haircuts the last three times I came in. I'm not planning to come in anymore, hence the review. Overall, there's a good atmosphere and very quick quality service (for the most part)."

"This review is for Eric specifically, but the barbershop is great. It has a classic barbershop feel with the culmination of many different personalities, all who care about their craft. Shop is nice looking & clean. No complaints. Eric’s cut was probably the best first time experience I’ve ever had with a barber, having cycled through many over the last few years. He’s got great customer service. We chatted like old buddies but I’m sure he would’ve been happy to cut in silence if that’s what the customer wanted. As for the cut, he took his time in a way that you could tell he cared about what he was doing rather than just getting me out as quick as he could. He recommended doing a scissor cut when I was fine with a buzz, which took longer but definitely looks better in the end. I was happy to take his recommendation, but I’m sure he would’ve been fine if I declined it. Cut looks great. I’ll definitely be back."

"I’ve been to Balkan Barber a couple of times now. I found this place after experimenting quite a bit. I’ve gotten haircuts from John & Al; they are both super professional and welcoming. John’s got great attention to detail and he asks a lotta questions to make sure he knows what you’re looking for and he does a great job with the beard. He’s given me great inputs for grooming and maintenance. Al’s also super crafty with what he does and he gave me a great fade the other day. Great communication and I appreciate how they ask questions and not assume stuff. The place has a great vibe, there’s always some sorta conversation going on, the vintage cash register is a great touch :)"
