"0430 on a Sunday morning, I’m listening to my friend on the phone lament and anguish over his life woes. Legitimately difficult for me to believe that women have the capacity to be cruel in any way but that’s his lived experience and I am nothing if not a dependable, comforting ear to gab into. Wow, he should relax I thought. As well could I, booking an appointment online and arriving a few short hours later at opening. Hot camomile tea and a head massage. perfumed, primped, bathed in bright sunshine after 11 days either rainy or completely cloudy in this, the greatest city on earth. I’ll be back at the very least to loiter. My husband just called and he’s reading the meaning of Lil Pump’s Butterfly Doors lyrics off of Rap genius. He’s reading Gucci gang at this moment however. “My lean cost more than your rent, your momma still lives in a tent.” RG: “lean is a popular drink that originated in Houston, Texas, etc”. "Wish I could give more than 5 stars!! I got my favorite haircut ever from Kazuma. I showed him a couple of inspiration photos as a loose reference, and asked him to do whatever he thought would look the best for me. I couldn't be happier with the results! My hair has always been very straight and flat but he was able to add so much volume and dimension!! He also touched up my color! The space is very clean and everyone working there seems really nice. Can't wait to come back :)"

"I’ve gotten my hair cut and dyed both by kazuma and had the best experience ever! This was my first time at salon 87, I live close by and so glad I came by. I showed Kazuma inspiration pictures for both the cut and color. We went back and forth a little bit discussing what would look best, the length and which exact color I was going for. I did a single process dye and layered hair cut. During each step, kazuma made sure and asked me if it was going to be ok and to make sure we were on the same page, about length, where he was going to cut, where the layers were going to start, etc. It ended up being my favorite haircut I have ever gotten! And the color came out amazing! I have virgin black hair and did single process red color. A few other of my friends have gotten their haircut and dyed as well! They all had an amazing experience too. So glad I found someone I can trust with my hair in the neighborhood!! There was a little language barrier when telling me about the maintenance of the hair dye, but we used Google translate!!"

I’ve been trying to find the right salon/stylist for the past 4 years and definitely found it today!! Everyone at Salon 87 is so kind and welcoming + the salon has a lovely interior."
