Reviews
"Nice place. Food was good. Some dishes were average but overall a great experience at a fair price."
"If I could give service a -5 star review, I would. When I left this restaurant, I was left wondering if I was crazy because I never experienced such rude service. But I also heard another guest leaving saying “that was terrible and I would never go back.” That pretty much summed up my experience. We called to make a reservation in advance and the person over the line was so short and unkind. She laughed when I gave her my last name and asked me to spell it twice. I didn’t want to judge the restaurant by that one person so I figured I would go to experience it. The food was mediocre at best. But what put me over was the service. For two people we payed 300+ dollars and the service was the worst I have ever experienced. I mean that truly. I am very disappointed because I expect an environment that is welcoming to all. I do not recommend this place. I left feeling unwelcome and hurt. There are many other Italian restaurants and I suggest you find another other place at the very least a place that is kind and welcoming to their guests. Reading the other one star reviews it appears that they treat certain guests differently…"
"Elio's dedication to excellence comes across the second you walk through the door. The staff operates like a small army, and their mission is to serve beautiful Italian food. The table bread is artisan, delicious. "Tutto di qualità" at Elios. Had roasted peppers con acciughe. My grandfather used to make this dish. It was a truly special moment of reflection eating all the food at Elios because it's the old school way and magnificent. My main was simple, spaghetti sugo di carne (aldente the right way) with meat sauce. Nobody makes this dish better than Elio's. Bravo to the Chef and staff for making beautiful Italian food for the community. If you like Italian food and haven't eaten at Elio"s yet...go! It's a wonderful experience."
"This is a bias but accurate review because this is our regular spot. Elio's has the best Italian food in the city. It feels real, it feels upscale, its crowd its older, its family run. Get the duck prosciutto. The minestrone is the best in town. The fried zucchini is better than french fries. You will see celebrities and politicians. It's a great NYC staple."
"Wow. Phenomenal. First time dining there but it felt like we were family. A fantastic atmosphere with great service and a beautiful setting. And the food was exceptional!!! I had the ravioli which was one of the best I’ve ever had, the sauce was delicious and they weren’t over filled, perfect balance. My boyfriend had a chicken dish with rosemary garlic and white wine sauce which stole the show. We’ve never had anything like it. AMAZING. Great dinner spot, great drinks and exceptional service. Make a reservation to ensure you get a seat as the place was full shortly after opening at 5pm for obvious reasons. DEFINITELY coming back here."
