Reviews
"I hate to leave a bad review for a theatre district restaurant during dinner rush (I can’t imagine how swamped they were!), but my friend and I had a beyond ridiculous experience here. We were seated more than 30 minutes after our 6pm reservation, with literally 0 apologies or acknowledgement from the hostess. She chose to fully ignore everyone waiting for a seat, and wasn’t even keeping track of who was next in line for a seat! She sat people who arrived 10 minutes after us before we were seated. Once we were seated, the waiter dropped off a plate of ice cold, stale bread with a side of ice cold, unsalted butter. Even the way it was thrown on the plate showed how little attention went into serving that food. It was accompanied by a small dish containing 3 dry olives, loose pieces of hard Parmesan, and 3 greasy slices of salami that literally looked like pre-packaged pepperoni you’d get at a supermarket. I genuinely couldn’t believe that they served this to us. The food was decent enough, but I can’t believe I paid $55 for an eh personal pizza and 1 eh glass of wine. Not to mention the insanely bad service. Definitely do not recommend. We were almost late to our show because of the late seating debacle (and we heard other people complaining about waiting AN HOUR+ for their food, and saw a family leave before they were served bc they were about to miss their show)."
"I do not recommend. Won't be going back. Strong mold/mildew odor. It was very slow late lunch but no one bothered to greet for 5 minutes. Menu was hard to understand, waiters didn't seem to care to explain the dishes and make recommendations. Waiter forgot the wine an it had to be requested after food arrived. Food was bland. No one checked in on how food and drinks were. We had to get up and leave to request our tab."
"Some of the best Italian food outside of Italy. Went there on a packed Saturday night had a reservation but showed up an hour and half early. We were seated promptly. The ladies at the reception were super warm and efficient. I truly thank them for making my mom and I feel so welcomed. The restaurant was bustling. We had a perfect table in the back room. Our waiter Roberto was very kind and attentive. And even though there were big tables he didn’t forget about us. Great wine selection. The lasagna is a 10 out of 10 well actually everything we had was great! Like EVERYTHING! Bravo to the chef, sous chef and all of the staff. We will be returning this is our new favorite Italian restaurant in midtown. A gem on restaurant row."
"Claudia was an excellent server and hostess throughout the busy Saturday 12/9. The first floor of the establishment was completely booked and the second was busy too. I felt catered to by the staff there even though it was busy. The food was excellent especially the swordfish. And the wine chosen by Claudia, showcases her skills as a wine connoisseur. Great place to be on a Saturday night. And don't skip on the dessert, the fig gelato was heavenly."
"Went with a large group and was not disappointed. Started with a nice assortment of wine which paired nicely with the bread. All of the pastas we got were delicious. The spaghetti chitarra was light but packed with flavor. The casarecce was the right mix of pasta, sauce, and meat. Lamb chops were cooked perfectly and were well seasoned. Amazing. The pizzas we tried were all good and would’ve been better as an appetizer instead of a meal. Great service and atmosphere as well."
