"Coziest and most nostalgic breakfast spot in Staten Island. They have a great breakfast special 6a-11am. Food is good and well portioned, prices are generally reasonable, more for some things than others. Waitresses is hit or miss, like people say here. Bus boys are very helpful. Waitresses depends who you get, time of day, and their mood. People have written about how harsh they are about seating full parties. That’s not a bad thing, but they’re not cordial about it. Lastly, I was charged $4.50 for 2 hot waters, and $2.50 to have peppers and onions in my home fries. That’s fine but let me know beforehand."

"I’ll start off by saying, some waitresses here are very RACIST and are very RUDE! If I could give this place 0 starts I would! I had chosen this spot because of the reviews to go have lunch after my wedding and luckily my sister got there first other wise, I would’ve snapped at this person! This old white guy at the entrance told her she had to wait with a very high tone, after 10 minutes and a whole bunch of empty tables she went to sit down at a spot (she’s pregnant and has a huge belly so she can’t be standing for long periods of time). The same guy approached the table and said they can’t sit there and then said he clearly had given instructions to wait! After yelling at her and her husband as if they were kids he told them another waitress would help them and he sent a Hispanic waitress??? Like, why??? The Spanish waitress said he was very sorry for the other guys attitude but they stood up and left. Luckily they just opened a Tavern 9 months ago a block up this street and we had a blast at this other spot but I would say, AVOID ISLAND COFFEE SHOP, ITS NOT WORTH IT!"

"I can not say enough good things about this place. Really good old school breakfast place, felt very homey. Food was excellent, service was great and the prices can not be beat. Stop spending money at the other diners on the island who charge tripple for the same meal. Go here to eat and you will not be disappointed."

"Went here on Valentine’s Day for brunch with my (senior) mom. It was busy and we waited about 15 min for a table. The place is a typical old fashioned diner…. basically a room with booths. The grill is in the front so you can see them making your breakfast. But, you don’t come here for the ambiance you come for good quality, well priced food. We had pancakes (light and fluffy) french toast (yummy) and eggs and turkey bacon (delicious). Coffee is strong. Be aware - everything comes with a side of butter! Service is good by Staten Island standards (my SI peeps know what I mean) attentive but not overly so, friendly, but not overly so. Our breakfast was $25 bucks, very reasonable for all we got. Would definitely go back!"

"Staten Island staple! One of the best breakfasts around town. Whats also nice are the staff that work there. We eat here at least once a month for breakfast. Food is always delicious. Service with a smile and friendly conversation. There are always a few regulars that at the counter for some jokes and good laughs. If there was a way to leave more stars i would."
