"My boyfriend and I have been coming here regularly since this place has opened. Every single item on their menu is good. We love the food and the friendliness of the staff. We always feel welcome there and we always feel good leaving. My personal favorite are their poke bowls and sushi burritos. And I always recommend pairing any of your meals with their Japanese nachos! The only thing I don’t personally love here is their bubble tea - but there are so many boba places in Edison and I’ve tried them all, so I’m a little picky. Otherwise, this is my go-to place for comfort food and reasonably priced yummy sushi :)"
"I visited Umami Bowls last week with my friend and we had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Black Garlic Char Siu Spicy Miso Ramen w grilled chiken, and Vegetarian Ramen, and they were all delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were fresh and chewy, and the toppings were generous and satisfying. We also enjoyed the Tofu Bao Buns and the Seaweed Salad as appetizers, which were delicious. The portions were very large and we were full after finishing our bowls. The prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. We had a great time at Umami Bowls and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves ramen or wants to try something new. We can’t wait to go back and try their other flavors."
"This place is like one of those mom and pop shop to me. The restaurant itself is not that big but can still hold about 10 tables or so. I was a bit surprised there weren’t any customer dining in during lunch hour. We ordered the roast pork steam bun, short rib beef shoyu ramen, 3 roll lunch special, and a custom sushi burrito + milk/fruit tea lunch combo. Everything came out pretty good and delicious. A restaurant I would return when I am around the area."
"My bf & I love going on ramen dates. We decided to stop by & check out this spot before our movie. What a pleasant & enjoyable surprise it was! We tried the Japanese Tacos for starters. Wow the pulled pork was soft, flavorful & juicy. The spicy mayo gave it that perfect japanese touch. Never had anything like it. I tried the black garlic char siu ramen w/ shoyu base. It had PLENTY wavy noodles, the most beautiful shoyu egg, the bamboo was soft but still had a nice bite. The Char Siu thoughhhh! It melted like butter in my mouth. With the perfect crispy braised edge. I wish I would’ve had more black garlic broth over the noodles but thats because the broth was so exquisite. My bf had short rib shoyu ramen. The broth was rich in flavor which set it off to a great start. The mushrooms were a delightful compliment. The beef was perfectly tender & had plenty of meat over fat. All in all we will be back, totally recommend"
"Not bad but not worth recommending : spicy miso ramen, titan sushi burrito. The fish in the burrito was one long piece for each type and made it difficult to bite through. The piece of fish sometimes just gets pulled out of the burrito or other toppings get squeezed out on the back because you're tugging on the burrito. I think if the chef just cut the fish into bite sized chunks before wrapping up the burrito it would make a big difference. The miso broth was too salty to enjoy by itself for me but luckily I had someone with me who likes their food incredibly salty. The vegetable toppings were also a bit stingy. Taste is okay and there are other things on the menu we would try, so we'll definitely give it another shot but our first experience doesn't make us excited to go back. Pricing is reasonable and we liked the ambiance which was veroming and modern and played enjoyable covers of American pop music."
