Sunny Sushi

"I’ve been eating at Sunny Sushi on a weekly basis for 10 years now, the sushi, sashimi and appetizers are always fresh, presentation is amazing and portions are perfect. "Ordered gyoza, miso soup and spicy tuna/spicy yellowtail rolls. The food meant to be hot, came cold. The sushi that was supposed to cold or at least a little above room temp, came warm? I ordered the early bird special by having dinner at 5:30pm on a Tuesday. Mind you, this place is 2 blocks away from me. Why was my food the wrong temperature? On top of that, the gyoza shell was chewy and tough and translucent, meaning this was cook at least one day ago, and microwaved. That's the only way gyoza wrappers get that texture. The sushi tasted as if the fish was old. I had three pieces of my 16 piece dish and had to stop eating. Later that night, I had a stomach ache. If I had eaten the entire dish, I have zero doubt I would've had food poisoning. I called Sunny Sushi, only for some guy to answer "Hello?" I responded "..... hello. Is this Sunny Sushi?" "Oh, yeah. It is." Is this place being run out of an apartment? What establishment answers the phone like that? I asked to speak to the manager, I explained my situation and all I asked for was to be refunded for the sushi I didn't eat. Close to a $16 dollar value, but I asked for $10 back. I wanted to be fair as I ate the miso soup and had three gyoza. I was disappointed but understand this is a small business. They eventually gruntled "Ok". I look three days later and my charge hasn't been changed and has been processed with my credit card company. Instead of refuting and going through the hassle, I am writing this review. Why does this place have 100+ reviews on seamless but only 2 (now 3) on google? Why can I not find their store front? It was a mistake to order here. There are 40+ sushi spots on the UES, I just happened to order from this one. Do NOT make the same mistake as I did."
