"Delicious drinks beyond just drip coffee — the ube latte and Thai iced tea are my favorites. Yummy vegetarian options for lunch/dinner as well. (The sweet potato/avocado salad… +++) Prices are great too, especially for Midtown! Friendly staff plus a chill environment to connect to wifi & get some work done."

"Wonderful staff, delicious food. The coffee is particularly good on a cold NYC morning. Great place to read. A real hub for NYC progressives. Every time you step through the door you learn something new, hear about a book you need to read or find out about an important event happening somewhere in the city. Any venue that provokes such an outpouring of hatred from pro-apartheid activists is clearly on the right side of history and should be a proud landmark for every New Yorker."

"We had a 2-days retreat at the people’s Forum and we catered our two coffee breaks and lunches from the Cafe. I the lunches were delicious and the goodies for the coffee breaks were amazing. Everyone at the retreat praised the food and the service. The service was superb. You also can’t beat the prices. This was one of the best decisions I made as it allowed us to work and enjoy great food. Highly recommend the Cafe and if we do another meeting at the Forum, I will definitely cater again."

"The People’s Cafe is such a special place! Delicious food & drinks at reasonable prices, friendly staff, vibrant decor, good playlist every time. With so many fast food chains in that area, it’s nice to have a place where you can get fresh food and good coffee without overspending. They also offer catering to events on-site at the People’s Forum (the educational and cultural center they share a space with) and in the neighboring area. I highly recommend this restaurant!"
