"I am originally from an Island with a pizzeria on every other corner. Most of it was pretty good, with some outstanding options. I moved to NJ in 2016 and have struggled to find pizza that doesn't have a diaper-crust and/or terrible cheese/sauce . I tried Lido on a whim and probably won't be ordering from anywhere else. The sauce/cheese is excellent quality and the crust is thin/crispy. Absolutely perfect and highly recommended. They have tons of gluten free options, I am unsure if the gf pizza is made in a separate prep area. Would love to know."
"Real old school joint. Dim and dark with good food and great staff. Intimate and cozy. The food is done right and they pay attention. The roast beef sandwich is served open faced and flat. Tasty. Thin crust pizza and decent. Full bar service. Clean bathrooms. Parking is tough in the area but not terrible. Totally a local joint that hopefully will stay the way it is with all the gentrification going on in the surrounding area."
"I have never experienced this in my life, but this evening I placed an order with Lido to finally see what they were all about. I’ve heard about them from friends and family and knew today I had to try it. I am so disappointed to say that I was delivered a ROTTEN pizza. The cheese or vegetables (I couldn’t tell because the smell and taste was so putrid) were spoiled. I have never experienced a rotten pizza before in my life of ordering pizza. I am so sad that this is my first and last experience with the restaurant. I had to throw away my slice and will just throw out the entire pie. I didn’t even bother to call because if they are willing to serve me and my family rotten food they probably are not willing to deliver a new fresh pie."
"If you’re looking for a real throwback restaurant, try Lido’s in Hackensack. It is warm and cozy on the inside with comfortable booths and little lamps on the tables. There’s even a pay phone in the small front lobby. Steak sandwiches, pizza and Italian entrees fill out the menu. There is also a steak on the menu. Pictured here is the cheeseburger with sautéed onions. It was fabulous and cooked perfectly. My wife had the sliced steak sandwich which is pictured. It comes in two sizes; single and double for those with a bigger appetite. Drinks are reasonably priced as well. The meals with a beer and a glass of wine came to $56. It was a great experience and we will be returning very soon to try the pizza (which looked terrific). Update: August 2023 - made another trip to Lido’s and was not disappointed. What a great place. Pictured is the chicken parmigiana. Delicious. And by the way, if you need gluten-free choices, just about anything on the menu has a gluten free option; the most I’ve seen in any restaurant."
"Lido Restaurant in Hackensack, NJ, is a hidden gem that never disappoints. Nestled in a charming location, this family-owned establishment exudes warmth and authenticity from the moment you walk in. It’s a throwback to simpler times. Their bar pies are amazingly thin and delicious. We enjoyed their open steak sandwich too. We prefer to sit at the bar. The wait staff is always on point. Great place for sensibly priced grub."
