"A very Blagden Alley establishment resplendent and ornate, effortlessly pristine w food and a vibe to match. A recent Michelin awardee to Causa, it’s immediately noticed as one walks inside by the seriousness the staff carry themselves by proxy of said recognition. Inside and out Amazonia pushes itself to serve the best they can from house curated cocktails to locally sourced coochieterrias. I wish we had come with a more punctual crowd, alas the birthday girl and her guests couldn’t be bothered, showing up an hour late and then some. If it wasn’t for me, who was there on time and eager to get the experience going, and getting them to order before the 3pm kitchen cut off time for dinner prepping, we would have had nothing to eat; no thanks to the waitstaff who had conveniently “forgotten” to inform our hostess. We got the ceviche, fried fish, 5 types of skewered, chix sammy, inside out baked potato, empanadas in chix and beef, and the fried rice, which was LIT. Everything else was fine and promptly served. It’s too bad we couldn’t experience Amazonia to its fullest. Next time we’re going w/o the late ppl and not be hated on, by proxy."

"Finally made it to Causa/Amazonia and let me tell you...It was amazing. We ate upstairs at Bar Amazonia and from the moment you walk in you're met with an ambiance reminiscent of rain forest vibes with a contemporary twist. It's beautiful and vibrant. Now let's get into the food and drinks. I started off with the Vino Andino. It was delicious and refreshing gin-based cocktail. For an appetizer we shared the Peruvian Scallops a la Parmesana. Hands down some of the best scallops I ever had in my life! They cooked perfectly with a smoky undertone. The parmesan cheese on top was the perfect touch. The chicken wing 'cecina' was also delicious. We also enjoyed the brussel sprout and filet mignon antichuchos (skewers). Everything up to this point so far was amazing. For the main entree we both had the lomo saltado (American wagyu). The combination of soy, onion and tomato broth was perfect. Chef's kiss! Lastly for dessert we had the Chocolucuma (chocolate cake). The lucuma ice cream topped on the chocolate cake slice was the perfect pairing. This was such a great experience. Can't wait to come back for Causa's tasting menu."

"Wow Causa/Amazonia really lived up to the hype. I went with my husband this past weekend while visiting DC for NYE. Our drinks were fantastic and the food impeccable. I love Peruvian food and am an Ecuadorian immigrant so seeing our cultural cuisine through the C/A lens in fine dining was just inspiring. You can tell the restaurant is a cohesive concept and the food made with love. It was interesting, fresh, authentic and yummy! We had 4 different types of cocktails (mine were the blood orange pisco sour and Amazonia pisco sour soooo good!), the cebiche, 4 types of the anticuchera, the maduros, a Jasmin rice and chorizo dish, and their signature desert. Everything was delicious. We ate at Gravitas the next day for twice the price and it wasn’t even half as good! Can’t wait to come back!"

"Amazing food. The chef has clearly put a significant amount of thought and time into preparing these dishes to give you a perfect tasting of Peruvian/Amazonian cuisine. My wife and I did the tasting menu + dry aged tuna dish- everything was perfect and the tuna was unbelievable. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for perfectly cooked fish. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The chef even came to thank us and ask our opinion at the end of our dinner."

"Food was excellent! The service was amazing. There were many people who worked for each table. They are very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. You have to make a reservation. The rooftop schedule is released 7 days in advance. So you won’t see it available if you plan more than 7 days in advance. I will definitely go back and try different dishes next time."
