"I moved here during the pandemic, and partly this is my fault for not researching the location better. The apartment I had was on the first floor, and constantly had maintenance issues. it took several days normally to get things fixed, as well as you had to stay on top of them. I had three floods in the apartment while I was there, and I had to complain constantly to get them to get it fixed right. Due to this, the apartment had numerous mildew issues. Also, the building I was in had roaches coming from one of the upstairs apartments per one of the maintenance workers. I had to constantly complain about that and the only way it was somewhat controlled was that I had to remediate myself more. The office manager is also very rude, and is not respectful. I highly recommend not to move to this complex, it will be a terrible experience that you will regret."
"I've lived here at Piper landing apartments for 2 years now, hopefully, 3 depending on how much they'll go up on rent. Ashley and Jessica have always been very helpful and pleasant. When my money got tight, during COVID Ashley did everything in her book to help me assure that my kids and I did not end up on the streets. Most apartment complex managers don't even take the time out to listen to what you got going on, let alone try to help you. Because she took the time to help me not only with the process but getting back to me promptly. Even to the point of calling me personally to help save me and my kids from being homeless. The only problem I've had are people with their dogs not picking up behind them. Because Piper landing is an old apartment complex, the only issue with the apartment itself is the plumbing. But maintenance is always on it. When I put a work order in every and any little thing I had they always did it within the day or two of me putting the work order in. As far as neighbors I had no problem with my neighbors. Sometimes I feel bad because I have kids and I know my kids are not quiet but I've never had anyone complain about them or even other people's kids. Parking is always full but a little walking ain't going to hurt nobody. Never had a problem with the police or robberies or anything of that nature. Always feel safe being here. Praying that rent doesn't increase too bad because I do desire to stay another year, especially since it is very convenient. Not only are the schools good but I'm right up the street to a Walmart Target like everything that you could need and want is not far."
"Hi guys, I have been a resident at Piper's Landing for the past two years. This was my first apartment, I found the application process to be easy, and the staff at the leasing office were very informative. Piper's Landing is an older complex, so don't expect many renovations and future upgrades. The laundry facilities are more senior and need some TLC, but they work if you are in a pinch. Some of the units have the setup built into the unit. Surprisingly it wasn't that much extra a month. Worth every penny. The unit was as listed, and it was clean upon arrival. Moving in was easy, and there were no disruptions from the neighbors. Since my arrival, I have never had a bug infestation, excessive mold, dirty vents, or broken appliances. The maintenance staff works very hard to keep this place looking pleasant. Some of the residents here can be hit or miss. Living in a lower-income complex has a mix of good and bad tenants. The price is very affordable for this area. People making $30,000 can easily afford this place. The Oceana district of Virginia beach isn't too bad. I haven't been broken into it, nor have I seen or heard gunshots close by. Always be wary of leaving packages too long by the front door. But that happens everywhere now, lol. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a starter apartment. I have brought in three current tenants because of my experience. Whatever reviews this place had in the past haven't been relevant to my knowledge."
"This is in regards to the application process , and just my overall experience so far. Firstly, Jessica, and Ashley are the best, both have been very helpful towards me. One thing people have to realize is you can't always listen to the reviews. Reviews can turn a lot of people away, but you can't always rely on them. I have seen reviews and pictures of the apartment, but some people have to realize bugs are everywhere, and open communication is important to try to solve any kind of issue. I would recommend this place to anyone. Also remember even so called luxury apartments around va beach have their issues too. Nothing is ever going to be perfect. Not realistic at all. But thank you again ladies for all the help and the on going help."
"My family lived here for about 3 years and it definitely wasn’t the worst place I’ve ever lived. Ashley and the office staff really do their best to help. They have so many responsibilities and people to take care of, especially now that they had to reduce staff due to COVID-19. The staff have always been polite, helpful, patient, and prompt to return calls. I’ve seen a lot of complaints about the staff being rude but I personally don’t believe it. Setting boundaries with your tenants, standing up for yourself, and being firm is not rude, people just aren’t used to being put in their place. So, they do the only thing they can and retaliate by leaving bad reviews. Remember: customer is not always right and the staff should NOT have to put up with being bullied and abused. They. Are. Doing. Their. Best. A little patience and kindness goes a long way. They were so understanding and helpful with us when we had trouble paying rent on time due to financial issues (covid). Ashley even helped us apply for rent relief. Maintenance was always prompt and friendly when we had any problems. We did have an issue with bugs but they always sent exterminators promptly. Bugs are a common issue with apartment buildings and there are so many things you can do as a tenant to keep them from taking over. My only real complaint is the dog poop everywhere but that is not the fault of the staff. If people were less lazy about picking up after their pets it wouldn’t be an issue. If you can’t do something as simple as clean up after your pet then you probably shouldn’t have one. To Ashley and the rest of the staff: thank you so much for providing a home for us, we’ll look back fondly on the time we lived in Piper’s Landing. Best wishes to everyone."
