"I've lived in 4 different apartment complexes throughout Hampton Roads area in the past 15 yrs and Brookside has got to be the best experience. I was worried because I've seen bad reviews but after covid, this is one of the few units I could find to rent. The area is great, real nice neighborhood, and the other apartment tenants keep to themselves. Neighbors say good morning and everyone keeps to their own and it isnt crazy noisy or dirty. I think the best part ia the service. All the other complexes Ive rented from had people working who didnt really want to be there or judged you when it came to higher end units. Management here actually takes care of you and theyre all so sweet. Anytime I have a question, they answer my email usually within minutes! The reason im finally putting up a review is because my a/c unit went wonky last night so it was hot. No biggie, i left the balcony door open and left the screen closed to let in the cool night air. In the morning it was hotter in my unit than it was outside. I called the office and within 15 minutes of calling they sent someone over andnthey had the issue fixed in about 10 minutes. I've been here going on about 3yrs and it's been great! Also the location is hard to beat because you're about 30 minutes away from everything!"

"I lived there for a few years, the apartment was ok, teeny tiny kitchen and rooms. The area is alright, but it’s the people they rent to that’s the problem. The neighbors next to us would abuse their child and would have people running up and down the stairs at all hours. Had to call the cops and CPS more times than I ever had in my life. I wasn’t on the lease but had my bf at the time raise the concerns, of course nothing was done because they were getting money from these people. Moved to Pelican Watch right up the street for nearly the same rent as BV was charging, you get SO much more for your money, the apartments are huge and the neighborhood is super quiet and always clean. Do yourself a favor and skip this place."

"I mush say these reviews are very much outdated! The apartment staff are wonderful and always willing to help especially during this pandemic! The apartments are a nice size and I had no issues with roaches and I glad I didn’t let the old reviews stop me from applying her back in 2019. I been here for two years now and I have no complaints what so ever. Maintenance comes promptly and is friendly and gets the job done. Easy to pay rent online with NO FEES like some rental properties have. Overall I had a great living experience here!"

"I love Brookside! Staff is amazing! Its a very quite neighborhood. The neighbors are not loud and they are very respectful. The only problem I have with this complex is the ROACH problem. My apartment is very clean. I am a clean freak! They told me which I know is true that even thought your clean your neighbors might not be. I just went into my kitchen to get something to eat and there was a huge ROACH! I can tell you when I first had this problem they were not that BIG! I'm also seeing flying ROACHS now. I have told them the problem, and the bug man comes out and sprays! But sometimes that spray does not work! It works for a little bit then they come right back! It is driving me NUTS! We love this place and hate to say goodbye but we will be moving. We will miss Melissia, Teresa and Jack. But I cant deal with the bugs anymore!"

"I was living there for 8 years.My unit was unique. Service was almost excellent(not exactly excellent because it was not on time some times).The best I can mention is office and coverage. And the worst(which is not a service problem though) is bugs.I had a lot of bug problem and some time we were asking for spraying week after week.Other than bugs I can say it was a good memory of me and my family life. I will definitely recommend brookside village apartments, specially for growing kids. Our kids and their friends had a nice back yard for playing whole entire day ."
