"I just moved out of these apartments, transferring to my next duty station across the country. When I left I was told I would have no balance. And miraculously not even one full week after moving out I am told I owe them for not giving them 30 days notice. I gave notice in writing back in July. I feel cheated and scammed. I will never rent with Boyd Homes again knowing that this is how they make their money. Cheating service members out of money."
"I recommended my brother to move in to these apartments when he was returning from deployment a year ago. He immediately loved everything about it. Until it came time for him to transfer and they are now trying to scam him out of money for a 30 day notice. We have documented proof that a notice was submitted back in July. He physically went into the office to tell them to extend it a month due to his military orders changing and now they're saying he never told them anything because the 1st notice was in writing and the 2nd was in person when he physically went in to the office and spoke with Kennisha to change his move out to the end of September instead. Now they're saying no notice was given, yet and still, when it came time for him to move at the end of September he called again to extend his move out by another 2 days. Only for them to tell him he only gave them a 12 day notice and now has to pay an exorbitant amount of money to them because of their lies and scams. DO NOT rent with this complex or Boyd Homes in general unless you want a company that has no integrity and scams service members upon move out."
"During my time here I had good experience with the staff. They were pleasant to speak with. Move In Experience- The apartment was clean, they had (at least to my knowledge) two internet service providers: Cox and Verizon. Noise- Depending on your units location, if its next to the street then you may occasionally hear horns. Walls and floor sound absorption: I hardly heard my neighbors, occasionally I did here footsteps and dogs running around but it did not become a problem. Move Out- Staff was helpful with the process. However, they expect professional cleaning to be done with a receipt provided. I got charged for cleaning. Also listed in another fee category: Damages - List: carpet clean for almost another hundred dollars even though I only stayed for a short period of time. No spills, No pets. Seems like these charges come automatically when you move out no matter. Overall: (In my experience) It was all good until the move out fees. I would ask several people about their experiences here before deciding on whether or not you would like to stay here depending on your preferences, pricing, location, and reviews. Don't rush."
"I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND TO ANYONE NOT EVEN MY BIGGEST HATER! I had just moved back home (757) from the 804 area. I was excited about this place I had came across. As for the day of moving in, I didn’t think it was so bad until I went to my room and smelled like dogs were just running around in there before I came. My first night there my neighbors above me woke my up out of my sleep because I could hear their feet walking back and forth. There’s been some nights I would literally think someone else was in my living room/kitchen that’s how thin the walls and floors are. There’s also been times when it sound like my neighbors above me could fall through my ceiling. I could literally hear them walk from the bedroom out the front door. Also, my shower water wouldn’t even get hot so I tried to take a bath it had rust coming out of it which I had to had clean myself. I had to call and tell the assistant property manager to tell maintenance how my water get warm and turn cold quickly. Maintenance came and thought they fixed it and didn’t fix a thing. I had to call again and the other maintenance guy had to come fit it which took a couple a weeks to come do. You better hope you have good clean neighbors too because I someone who stayed having trash in front or around their door. The carpet around their door was also stained and smelled. The net bugs are terrible here. Terminix had to keep coming every other week or so. There’s also no decal for a (luxury apartment) haha so yes anyone could park anywhere. Sometimes they’ll be cars everywhere and you’d have to park around the building just to park your car. Who would want to come home from a long day/night of work and park their car around the building? My first few months of staying here we had these fire drills as if we were in grade school. There was a time the fire alarm went off for absolutely nothing. As for myself, I’d work all day and/or all night so getting off work just to come home and stand outside was crazy to me. Lastly, the dog mess around the building is ridiculous. There’s also been times when dogs would pee/poop on the steps and the owner of the dog would leave it there. Don’t be late with giving them a move-out notice they are going to charge you buy the day. And you’ll have to hire professional carpet cleaners or they’ll take it out of your refund. Whether you’re paying 1500 or 2000 don’t even think you’re getting that much back. They are definitely some scam artists. This is the first time I never received my full refund back this has to be a joke. In the photo, I had just purchased this from Walmart 2 days prior."
"If I could give this place 0 stars, I WOULD! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Literally this is not a joke! I moved from Philly to this place for a fresh start, from the start, HAD TO HIRE CLEANERS!!! The bathroom sink was disgusting!!! Stains all over the sink. Pet fur was EVERYWHERE AND LOTS OF IT! WHOEVER CLEANED THIS APARTMENT SHOULD BE FIRED! Pet fur in the washer, all over the floor (even though new carpet was put down), just disgusting. Oh, and the bugs do not forget the bugs. Terminix had to come out 2 weeks into me staying. Wasp nests on the balcony, lots of bees so couldn’t enjoy my stay outside for too long. My sons tub was rusted shut so I couldn’t even use his tub. Windowsills and baseboards had PET FUR on it and whatever genius just painted right over it! The hallways and carpet looks horrendous. I guess they can’t afford daily cleaners or don’t care, I’m not sure. I moved in 7/1/23, I literally had to make aware to the leasing office somebody spilled coffee all over the chair in the entrance way. It was cleaned up 2 weeks later. But where’s the pride and cleanliness in this apartment??? Do they not care. And boy oh boy, DO NOT STEP into the grass outside, POOP EVERYWHERE. All in all, this place was DISGUSTING TO SAY THE LEAST! They should be embarrassed and ashamed of how they operate over there. And staff is all rude. They don’t even greet you when you walk by. I moved 7/1/23 and was out the breaking my lease by 7/21/23. Please let this review marinate and you tour before you do anything with them. And tell me if I’m lying! A joke! SOCIETY AT CROSSROADS is better. Go there!"
