"I made an appointment here a few days ago due to ear pain that I thought was most likely an ear infection. The MD who saw me seemed very nervous and acted as though she did not know how to use the equipment to look down into my ear. She looked in my ear multiple times and used two different tools and said she did not see any infection in my ear, but that the inside of my ear looked congested. She prescribed me ear drops and Flonase. The pain in my ear persisted for several days and I began to lose hearing in the affected ear. A few days later, I went to the AFC Urgent Care at Towers and the provider who saw me looked in my ear and said that I have a bad middle ear infection, and he wasn't sure how the MD that I saw at Velocity Care did not see that. Now my ear drum has ruptured, I have temporary hearing loss, and must see an ENT because the MD at Velocity Care failed to recognize my ear infection."
"Sat in that cold office for 2 hours & PA Susan Campbell Hill would not provide antibiotics because I’m taking tamiflu. Sinus infections are bacterial so how does this make sense???. I’m sure I’ll get charged the usual $125. for wasting my time. I’ll also be lucky not to get impacted sinuses but she really didn’t care. I’ve had good experiences in the past; this was awful. Get a virtual visit."
"We visited yesterday on Christmas and had a good experience (especially for us being out-of-staters). We reserved a spot online, were processed, seen, and diagnosed in a reasonable amount of time, and they even knew which pharmacies were open on the holiday for us. Nurse Jennifer was fantastic with my daughter and so was the young gentleman PA."
"They run by appointments only which is not mentioned on their website anywhere that you have to make an appointment.Twice I've gone and could not be seen because they were booked which defeats what an Urgent care facility is. It's like scheduling a sick appointment with your Dr. I've also scheduled for a 745pm appt and was never seen and was told I have to come back the next day. Best to go through fast track at the Lewis Gale I was in and out in 30 mins NO appt needed."
"almost lobotomized my 18 month old with a nose swab. i brought her in for lethargy and and fever of 104 and then stuck the nose swab further up than i’ve ever had it, probably a good three 1/2 inches it almost disappeared. also insisted on cleaning her ears to check for ear infection and staff made me pin my daughter down. i understand some of this can sometimes be necessary but shoving a nose swab 3 1/2 inches up a toddlers nose probably isn’t the best idea."
