"We are so very fortunate to have this beautiful State Park within the city limits of Virginia Beach. I come here most weekdays for a walk on the bayside of the park. It's such a blessing that this wonderful property has been saved from the developers."
"We camped with our 30ft RV at the campground and enjoyed ourselves. The site we were at was adjacent to the bathhouse, which could have used a LOT of bleaching. But I’m assuming they don’t use harsh cleaners given their proximity to the ocean. There’s very poor circulation so it’s a hot box in the summer. We were there on literally the hottest day of the year. Didn’t stop us from having a great time. The gift shop sold goods, ice cream, and souvenirs. We would visit again! Only missing a star because: our lot had an insane amount of burrs at it. Not sure where they came from. You know the ones that are spikes and hurt a lot?"
"We stayed in Kendall loop site 2. Loved it. Close (but not too close) to the bath house. Close to the walkway to the water. Sites a nice and feel private. There is a bit of road noise but not bad at night. Glad we are not on the outer loop on the roadside. The road noise must be terrible during the day. The negative is these spikey balls of pain in the grass and edges of the site. They stick to everything and are painful. Especially dog paws. We enjoyed the sights and sounds of being near Fort Story. We are booking next year. Recommended."
"I like this place a lot. We have camped here several times. I DO NOT recommend being near the road. It is noisy! Overall this campground is extremely neat, clean, and far from any kinds of super annoying or dangerous pests or animals. I love it here. Plenty of spots to choose from!"
"Amazing clean campground, beach and facilities. Safe with park ranger presence at all times, will make it a yearly summer get away!"
