Rocky Run Stream Valley Trail 12826 Mount Royal Lane, Fairfax, VA 22033

"A great place to take a nice walk. It can be a bit hard to find the location if you are not familiar with this trail. My favorite way of accessing is through the entrances on Middle Ridge Dr., between Mt. Royal Ln and the Greenbriar Pool Club. There are numerous entrances between houses along the trail. The stream itself is quite nice, as well. While most of the stream is not accessible, there are a spot that is easily accessible, and it is shallow and wide at the area. While I do not necessarily recommend swimming here due to its close proximity to many urban areas, it is a nice place to take photos. Most (if not all) of the trail is paved."

"We often walk the 6 miles stretch from Monument Dr. to Eleanor Lawrence park. The trail is well defined. Though it runs closely through communities yet it’s quiet and beautiful."

"I come here ALOT with my friends and I bike through it pretty fast, there are a ton of spots were you can enjoy the creek specifically one on the greenbriar(west) side that features a bench. I love to get my feet wet in the water and enjoy what nature has to offer! Being in the woods enlightens my mood and helps me connect with the wildlife! I wish this park was bigger as it can get a bit repetitive after a while!"

"A cool but muggy 7 mile hike this morning on the Rocky Run Stream Valley Trail. Very suburban setting, popping out in a couple of neighborhoods to cross the street. Good amount of people on the trail for a weekday as well."

"Outstanding trail in the middle of the city. Lots of wildlife...deer, fish, squirrels, birds. Beautiful place to walk in the fall with all the trees changing colors and loosing their leaves. Stumbled upon this hidden gem after a doctor’s appointment."
