"Hello, I want to start by saying that the mental health industry is by far not geared to help patients. My experience with this place was just upsetting to say the least. From the insensitive nature of the staff to the lack of communication by my therapist. They will leave you high and dry in the middle of a seemingly hard time and not bat an eyelash your way. It’s sad to know that ppl in times of need or mental crisis, will be turned away or not informed or shown no guidance to help. Just left, feeling hurt, torn and wondering, why do I keep thinking these places will help. It’s a no wonder why this world is slighted with mental health issues. It’s an industry not healthcare. By the reply given, it further shows me no attention was paid to what I said. I didn’t say just left the building, I said “just left feeling hurt, torn and wondering etc” . Also wasn’t seeking a crisis center. Was seeking mental health help. That is what this place is for? Right. Maybe look into my words and don’t just reply. Read better do better."
"Unfortunately, I've had nothing but good experiences with Advanced Psychotherapeutics. Wherever you go, you will find at least one person who can use additional customer service training. Are they a busy office? Sure. Would you want therapy at a clinic that was never busy? Working in the medical profession isn't easy. Although there is never an excuse for rude behavior, we need to recognize the front office has to multi-task under stressful conditions. That being said my encounter with Keyona was nothing but exceptional. Was I put on hold? Absolutely! I had a ton of questions. Could she have been in the process of checking someone out? Was she trying to answer different lines without rushing me off the phone? I'm sure she was. But her telephone etiquette showed nothing but empathy. So if the checkout line is long, if the telephone lines are busy, just remember Keyona and others like her that are multitasking, while getting yelled at, cursed out and complained to. Many of us would not want her job."
"The sweetest people work here. I’m hard of hearing and the lobby was noisy but that’s not anything to do with the workers. But they were so nice and king it made my week.I don’t quite remember who I saw this morning I’m awful with names but I’ll be sure to find out (: so I can leave a review just about how wonderful they were."
"Trust the reviews. My PCP referred me here for testing and a possible diagnosis. The testing staff, Dr. Barclay, and the P.A. that prescribed the medications were all great in their professionalism and care provided. The office is where I feel this practice falls apart. I haven’t dealt with any type of rudeness but appointments and billing has been a disaster. During appointments I’ve witnessed multiple people come in only to realize their appointments were cancelled/rescheduled without notice. They make it clear that payments are due at the time of service. And that is fine. However, it appears that they make calculations based on your insurance percentage / remaining deductible. They get it wrong…. If you need them for a diagnosis, leave it at that and get your medication managed elsewhere."
"I don't remember the reviews for this place being so horrendous when I started here, but after finally getting fed up with dealing with the rude office staff telling me *again* that I did not have my 3 month appointment on the books, I decided to voice my concerns. As it happens, I appear to be adding just another body to the dogpile. In my experience (over a couple of years now) the office staff are consistently incompetent and condescending. I don't remember the customer service here ever being "good," but it's definitely gotten worse over time. From lost appointments to wildly different information about when or how they can or cannot schedule remote sessions, to informing me last minute that a clinician has to reschedule with no availability for months, these people have a knack for finding creative new ways to provide actively poor service. It seems like a petty thing to complain about at a mental health services clinic, but gosh, you'd think a place like this would be more interested than most in reducing anxiety and negativity. Instead, here there is a complete denial of any mistakes matched with heaps and heaps of passive aggressive, condescending attitude if ever one should dare to complain. This is all a shame considering how the actual medical staff are very effective at everything else, including advanced, industry-leading research. To Dr. Barclay: PLEASE hire better office staff. To everyone else: if you choose to go to Advanced Psychotherapeutics for their top notch clinical services, bear in mind that the office staff are apparently on a mission to make your experience as miserable and aggravating as possible. Life is full of trade-offs, I guess!"
