"Update: I went to another GYN and they immediately ordered scans. A 6cm fibroid was found and was removed after surgery. As the fibroid was degenerating, this is where my pain was coming from. I would not recommend Dr. Galo, if she had ordered scans like I asked, she would’ve found it. I’ve been a patient with Dr. Lee for 5+ years and never experienced any problems. She is incredibly kind and has shown concern for my health issues. Due to an urgent matter, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Galo as Dr. Lee was unavailable. I told her I have a long history with endometriosis and cysts and believed I experienced a ruptured cyst, therefore I would like to have an ultrasound to confirm. She advised that it was not necessary due to it being a “one-off” situation and it “was probably just gas”. If it kept occurring, then we could possibly have an ultrasound scheduled. This was incredibly frustrating due to my history and I know my body, this was far from any normal pain I’ve felt. The appointment was the worst I’ve ever had with a doctor and I left feeling unheard. I felt like there was no urgency or concern from her. I also advised her (and wrote on my intake paperwork) that I was on a new birth control, however, she still sent the old prescription to the pharmacy. Dr. Lee is wonderful, but I would not recommend Dr. Galo."
"My first appointment started with a HIPAA violation, telling me the name and birthdate of another patient. The ladies behind the desk just laughed and said oh she’s been in recently and you look similar. It has gone downhill from there. I came in an immense pain more than childbirth due to a trigger shot Another office had given me without providing side effects or potential problems from the shot. Kelly Davis was condescending and prescribed pain medication only when I begged because I was in so much pain. Instead of prescribing some thing like Tylenol three she prescribed Vicodin which I cannot take due to a genetic thing. she did not ask if I could take it. So it was completely useless. I was an immense pain for 12 days and they did nothing. Today I had to cancel appointment that I needed first available due to unforeseen circumstances. They told me the cancellation fee would be $100 and try to reschedule me. They offered me three appointments and that was it. Avoid avoid avoid !!!"
"The front desk and staff are always welcoming. I’ve been here twice and NP Emily Nobles has listened to every concern I’ve ever had and provided me with solutions that are best for me. She actually listens, unlike many medical professionals. Whenever I call to make my appointments, I’m always greeted with bright and bubbly energy. I’d recommend this office other than the Suffolk location for sure!!"
"I used to see Dr. Jackson when she was Dr. Rice and she was awesome back then but after my recent visit I will never go back or recommend her or this office. On the day of my appointment after waiting an hour I was finally called back. The nurse made me undress entirely which was unnecessary because the doctor didn't need me to totally undress. Instead of consulting with the doctor (she was in the next room in her office) the nurse just made her own decision and I had to be extra vulnerable and uncomfortable because of her lack of compassion. Once Dr. Jackson finally came in she was not interested in listening to my issues, she was openly rude and laughed at one of my complaints, and basically told me nothing was wrong with me based on her observations. After the tests came in it was revealed I did have an issue needing to be addressed and I was given a prescription. A nurse called to inform me they would call in a prescription but when I asked questions she just talked in circles instead of answering. Dr. Jackson stated at my appointment SHE would call if needed after tests came in but that was a lie. The medication prescribed is pretty brutal on your system and very importantly you can't drink while taking it or for three days after finishing the last dose. The nurse didn't bother to mention this so thank goodness there was a warning on the bottle. I had to do my own research to learn I shouldn't drink for three days after. After taking it I developed hives on my lips. I called the office and they told me a nurse would contact me. A triage nurse called me back and told me what I had sounded like a cold sore. After I told her it swelled up suddenly and then went back down after taking benadryl and I've never had a cold sore in my life she agreed it wasn't a cold sore but told me I should see an allergist because the medication shouldn't cause hives. A quick google search of possible allergic reactions associated with the medication showed hives as the number one side effect. The nurse stated she'd call back after speaking to the doctor but never did, I had to contact them again the next day. The nurse finally called back and recommended again that I contact an allergist but did state they would call in an alternate prescription. I researched that prescription because of course nothing was covered with my by the nurse and I found this alternate medication has a higher success rate of treating patients, requires fewer doses, and has far less side effects than the hive inducing medication I was originally prescribed. I have no idea why this wasn't the first choice but it's impossible to contact the doctor to ask questions, you just get a nurse who talks in circles. The doctor also had an attitude when I inquired about what tests she was running as if I shouldn't have any awareness over my own healthcare. The bottom line is that if you have questions, expect to be treated with dignity, want to be prescribed the best medication for your situation, or if you simply don't want to spend half a day at a doctors office waiting for them to bother to see you, you should find another doctor."
"I love this office! I have only had 3 visits so far, and could not be happier. The doctors are amazing, knowledgeable, and thorough…but my favorite part about this practice is the staff at the front desk who greet you and answer the phones. I have called at different times on different days and spoke to different ladies who always sound so happy and excited to take my call. They are so positive and so helpful and that really means a lot. I definitely recommend this practice to everyone!"
