"This review is for the Abingdon/Campus Dr/Dr Whitman office. My parents are DEVOTED patients of hers, I am disgusted with her, and the offices, patient response and care. Getting refills and monthly prescriptions sent in is a fate worse than getting teeth pulled. My mom has been out of pain medication for 4 days now because her pharmacy on file cannot get them in stock, after an immediate call to the doctor to reroute to alternate pharmacy, 5 days later we are STILL WAITING! This is the NORM for this particular office! I go to the Sapling Grove office and give it AND the doctors 5 STARS!!!"

"Just try calling them....IF you can find a phone number (which is not on the web site). Once found on Google, call the Abingdon office, select Family Care, and you will be disconnected with a message stating there are phone problems - this occurred three times on May 23, 2023. Call other numbers and, if you reach anyone, you will wait on hold for a minimum of ten minutes. The Voice Mail systems do not provide a fax number or contact information. How -- HOW -- on Earth does this organization stay in business? This review does not speak of the care provided by the physicians, since I know nothing of that. However, my experience attempting to communicate with a physician there for legal purposes was beyond frustrating and, in my humble opinion, a complete and dismal organizational failure."

"Dr. Townsend is absolutely the best dr in our area. I had went to another dr for 8 years and was mis diagnosed and she found the real problems and sent me to other drs to get things fixed. I truly believe i would have neen dead if i hadnt changed to dr Townsend. She is very nice and takes time to listen and explains things until u understand everything. I cant say enough good things about her she is just totally awesome and the best dr."

"I am so pleased! Absolutely everyone was great! The receptionist was so friendly and pleasant. The nurse's and the sweet lady in the lab who did my blood work.( which was completely painless thank you again!). They all just went above and beyond to make it a pleasant & positive appt. Last but certainly not least Dr Townsend! She is just Awesome. I've had a couple unpleasant encounters with doctors in the last few years but Dr Townsend has restored my faith in doctors. She LISTENED to me. She asked me what I thought ( a first in my 52 yrs). She was caring, thorough,and like I mentioned before she listened to me. I've only been a patient for a couple months but I can tell you I feel truly blessed to have found HMG & Dr Townsend. I wouldn't hesitate a second to recommend them to anybody."
