"The people running the management company are among the most disingenuous I have encountered in my entire life in any setting, personal or professional. As for the upkeep of the building, among other problems, there are currently 5 washers and dryers and an elevator out of service."
"I have lived here very happily for 2 years. However, recently a chain smoker has moved into the unit below me and the smoke travels up through the connecting air vents and turns my apartment into an effective hot box every day. I can’t sleep at night due to their late night smoking binges - which last at least 4 hours a night- and I am worried about the health of my dog and myself. We are having increased allergy type symptoms and my eyes sting. I went to the 9th floor the other day and the whole end of the hallway smelled like a 1950s casino thick with smoke. It was SHOCKING. I’m not willing to get secondhand smoke cancer just because I lived in this apartment. I’m told the building is not smoke free and becoming smoke free is a long process that grandfathers in current smokers. I was not given this information before I moved in. (WHY WHOULD AN APARTMENT BUILDING IN THIS DAY AND AGE ALLOW SMOKING?) The building puts charcoal filters in everyone’s air vents, but this accomplishes very little. It is 2023 and having cigarette smoke forced upon you insane. Smoking is known to cause cancer and other health concerns. Having cigarette smoke forced upon me with no recourse is a clear violation of my tenant right to quiet enjoyment of my unit. If a person chooses to smoke themself to an early death, that’s their choice. But they certainly have no right to make that same choice for everyone else who lives in their building. The building has otherwise been very charming and pleasant. Fairly quiet and clean with polite people. It is a pity that they are letting smokers ruin it for all of us."
"I lived here for two years, and was so sad when I moved out! It is a great building with amazing staff (special shout-out to Aaron). The amenities were great, the building is super clean and I always felt safe living here (even when I was living alone). I never had any issues with noisy neighbors and everyone was so friendly and polite. Even though the apartments are quite expensive, they are definitely worth it and the location is incredible. I cannot recommend this place more highly!!"
"Pros: Concierges are very good. Aaron is the nicest guy. Great location in Dupont Circle with easy access to Georgetown. Maintenance is prompt and professional. Building is well-maintained and good-looking despite its age. Residence socials are cool. Rooftop pool is very nice and well-maintained. The same can be said for the rest of the rooftop. Cons: No in-unit laundry. Laundry prices also increased to $2.05 and require using a card that can only be loaded in increments of $10. Garbage truck can be a bit noisy on trash pickup days."
"We love living at the Westpark! Its biggest perk is that it is arguably in the best location in DC. Quiet, safe, and walkable to everything (including Georgetown!!!) We have amazing views of the Washington Monument in our unit as well! Tons of freebies for residents (free wine for National Wine Day) which is always nice. The actual units are constructed really well and the building is concrete, hence why we rarely hear our upstairs neighbors. My favorite part of the unit is the Nest thermostat and the fact that all utilities are included! If there is an issue, maintenance is always prompt to address it. Arguably one of the best rooftops in DC with a rooftop pool (!!!), grills, and a TV. The only drawback is no in unit laundry - but I came from a place with in unit laundry and this wasn’t really an adjustment. The laundry room is nice, clean and bright, not like your typical basement laundry, and it’s pleasant to do your laundry down there. All in all, I’ll be sad to leave the Westpark. I highly recommend living here!!!"
