"I lived at the Seville for a few years in the late 80s-1991. I loved it there. Part of its charm was its outdated look which I’m hearing it has all been remodeled. I loved that it was such a convenient walk home from 13th and L. I loved the community and one of my favorite memories was being on the roof at the pool, and just looking across the city, everyone else having a good time and cooling off at the rooftop pools. There was such a sense of community there, and some great restaurants not far from there last time I was in Washington, which I am quite often, always go by there and just walk down memory lane. The building has changed on the inside a little I’m hearing. But I loved the outside of it as well. I just felt so at home there, and with a lot of other local people it was so comfortable. Billy was the manager when I was there at the Seville And she ran a very tight ship. I don’t know if she’s still longer with us, but I’ll never forget living there. ❤️"
"I was a tenant at the Seville Apartments for almost two years. The location is great, and the included utilities are an amazing perk. However, I didn’t have the best experience like everyone else seemed to have on these reviews. Overall, management lacked authority, professionalism, and poor execution to several of my issues. I lived on the sixth floor and for context kept an extremely clean apartment. I dealt with a kitchen sink leak issue which took about three weeks to get fixed – this led to cockroach problems. I also had mice issues and caught about four. I lived across the trash chute and residents constantly left dirty recycling and trash in that room. I had a serious ceiling leak in my bathroom with water leaking through the heat bulb lamp. There was a terrible smoke smell I was dealing with through the vents of my bathroom, the building manager admitted the resident below me vaped so to fix the issue maintenance taped charcoal filters over my bathroom vent. An item fixed to my bicycle was stolen in the garage. Also, this building does not switch on the a/c until May so if you decide to live here invest in some good fans for March/April for those hotter-than-expected days. And the day before I moved out, I was falsely accused of stealing headphones from a resident. The building manager showed security footage to a resident without fully examining it, and the resident came to my unit, banged on my door, and demanded them back. My privacy was violated and I have been dealing with emotional trauma since. I’m thankful nothing happened to me physically and glad to not be living at the Seville Apartments anymore."
"I love living here! Been here since 1992 and haven't left. Plus, The staff are phenomenal! Shelby is the best hire that Gelman could have ever considered to run the property. She's proactive, stays on top of things and if you need anything she's on it. She has a good heart and is always looking to help you if you need anything. Chris is cool as well; he has a lighter perspective on things which is welcoming, and he understands, listens and if you need something will relay it to where it needs to go. Manuel the maintenance guy is good too, he replaced my kitchen faucet and did a great job. He's a no-nonsense kind of guy that just wants to make sure that your pipes are ok! Rosa, Rosa"
"I lived in the Seville for around two years and a half, and it is without a doubt the best residential building in DC. This is in very large part thanks to Shelby, who truly puts in so much hard and thoughtful work into making the building a wonderful place to live in. Thanks to her--and all of her wonderful coworkers!-- the building functions smoothly and has great amenities, including a pool and gym, that serve its residents. She even takes the time to organizes activities and joyful events that keeps residents connected and helps you build a community! I am very grateful for her hard and intentional work, and cannot recommend the building enough as a result."
"I lived in the Seville for the past year and can say with my full heart that this was the best apartment I've lived in in Washington, DC throughout my years of being in the city. Not only is the location absolutely perfect, being blocks away from some of my favorite restaurants (Barcelona Wine!) and bars (Players Club!), but the management in this building is what makes this location so special. Shelby welcomed me in June of 2022 and was extremely helpful and hospitable throughout my move-in process, constantly checked on me to make sure I had everything I needed, and is amazing at creating fun events for the residents to enjoy. Shelby and Chris are truly the best part of living in this community. The view from the rooftop (pool!) is impeccable, and I made many friends while living in this building. I will miss this spot, but I cannot rave about it enough!"
