"Almost $2000 for a ONE bedroom APARTMENT. NOT HOUSE , But APARTMENT. $1,650 for 1 bedroom apartment. The owners here ought to be ashamed of themselves. People can afford these prices."
"We were so fortunate to have found Jefferson Ridge! We have an updated apartment and it's just perfect for us. Love the local area, it's quick to go shopping or grab a family meal on the way home from work. The schools are decent and the teachers have been great as well. Highly recommend!"
"We lived here temporarily for 4 months. Everyone was super nice, they were willing to work with the short term lease, it's dog friendly, and there's usually ample parking. We used the gym a few times and it's great when you don't wanna drive to a gym. It's close to grocery and Starbucks. It's on the opposite side of town than the main outlets (north of town), but it helped us save money realistically. We felt very safe as the complex is on its own road in a more hidden neighborhood. However, beware that you won't get a majority of your security deposit back. Let me clarify what the lease says in true terms. 1. You have to either carpet clean yourself or they take it out of your deposit. 2. In addition, they will automatically take out a cleaning fee from your deposit ($225 for an old unit, no new appliances, full carpet, 2 bed/2bath - it varies on your floor plan). This doesn't matter the state of the place when you leave. We left it better than we found it, thinking the cleaning fee only applied to apartments that really needed it or tenants who didn't clean. WRONG. It doesn't matter. Jokes on us. Long story short... don't waste your time cleaning when you leave!!!! I'd still reccomend it. I just hope to make others aware of what the terms actually mean and what to expect."
"Jefferson Ridge has gone way down in the past three years. My mother has rented an apartment here for the past couple of years. The appliances such as the stove and dishwasher, the bathrooms, carpets, and kitchen cabinetry are very old and outdated. You literally have to wash your dishes three times for them to be clean in the dishwasher because it is so old and doesn’t work. Compared to other apartments in Charlottesville they are very run down. Doors and blinds fall off and maintenance has to constantly come rehang them. The heat doesn’t work and my mothers electric bill was $500 in January because she had to use emergency heat as the normal heat setting does not work . Maintenance has been in several times to check on it and has never once fixed it. The office staff, especially Shay, is very rude. Instead of building a friendly liaison with tenants they are very hostile. Compared to other apartment communities in Charlottesville, you can do much better with newer, more modern interiors and staff that makes an apartment community feel welcome and appreciated."
"I lived here for one year, and the experience was ok. They had good amenities, but there were other issues. My apartment didn’t have the new appliances featured in photos online, and they worked like old appliances. Anytime we tried to get something fixed, it was only fixed for a short period of time or another issue would pop up. (For example, the patio door handle popped off the first or second time we used it. We called in a maintenance request to fix it, and the new one was installed backwards.) We went without AC in the summer for several days, and they kept telling us it was fixed, but it wasn’t. We had to get a hotel room one night because it was 85° and I have a chronic illness where I’m not able to endure heat very well. They refused us any aid or even an apology. Our bills were always high because the insulation was seemingly nonexistent. We just dealt with many small things like that, which made our decision to move an easy one."
