"I feel like as of lately, the only good thing about this place is Doctor Karp. Maybe it is just me. But it feels rather ridiculous that if I call today and there are no appointments available then I cannot make an appointment for tomorrow. They tell me all I can do is call back after 7:45 in the morning if I want to schedule an appointment for tomorrow. Are all pediatric office policies that parents can not make an appointment for their child without calling the day of?? Anyone else with this problem at Tidewater Childrens Associates?"

"My kids have gone here their whole lives. I haven’t had a bad experience yet. Wait times are minimal, staff is friendly, practitioners are knowledgeable and kind. But let me tell you about my most impressive experience! Recently, I took in a child who isn’t biologically mine and struggled with getting records to enroll them as a new patient, but Madison (front of office staff) was incredibly helpful. She went above and beyond to help me under our unusual circumstances and was always so pleasant, kind, and empathetic. The world needs more Madisons. This young woman deserves enormous recognition, I can only hope that the practice recognizes what an asset she truly is."

"Terrible terrible office! I will no longer be using any sort of pediatric care here. Huge red flag is when the doctor and I agreed on only 2 vaccines rather than 7 at his 2 month appointment. Yes 7 vaccines! The doctor agreed on the 2 and then nurse comes to administer the shot and I happen to ask her what vaccines is this?She tells me its the 7 different vaccines. If I hadn't caught that my baby would have gotten 7 shots in his little body at 2 months old. I don’t even like taking my child here because they want to constantly compare your child to arches on computers who knows if it’s based off new data, Breastfed, or formula fed babies. They stuff formula information down your throat. My baby shows all signs of getting enough milk including all the wet diapers, still gaining weight, and when I brought up the idea it could be reflux or lip tie he just order Pepcid to try and didn’t even check and see the lip tie when I made that concern. When I asked what to do he just said “I can just give you a ent referral.” It’s like a bad interview of how you’re feeding them. Terrible outdated advice. The Doctor here has no support for breast feeding and no recommendations for any sort of breast feeding support or Lactation Consultant. Don’t let your child come here if you care for their well-being, be their advocate!"

"This the absolute worst pediatrician. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE! My initial impression was the nurses were nice enough and while the doctor we saw wasn’t very warm or informing he did his Job. For sons next check up I called in Ahead of time and spoke with a nurse about someone other than my child’s parents bringing him, as I had to work, to which I was told with a signed note and a call to confirm that would be fine. My son was turned away for his 9 month appointment and Then they didn’t have another appointment until his TWELVE MONTH CHECK UP. Well today he goes in and these wretched people tell his stepdad that his appoint was cancelled no one was notified and he won’t be seen. I am so DISGUSTED at the way you treat the parent who bring their children to this place. Horrible staff and horrible office."
