"Terrible experience dealing with a rude volunteer. We went to adopt a cat, brought a couple kittens into the playroom to observe and choose one. We didn’t see the small orange text sign on the door not to bring them in there without checking first. Tall short hair lady with glasses that worked in the back marched in and was rude af about it, whining she has to deep clean the playroom again, and still was rude after we apologized. We were the only adopters there and she could care less to help us find an animal to adopt. Maybe she should find a different job? Or just not interact with the public so she doesnt ruin another animal’s adoption? We stopped looking and left. The lady at the front desk was very nice though."
"They keep their pets warm during the winter. Johnson City animal shelter does not. What a shame."
"Love this shelter! They truly love their animals and treat them with respect. ❤️"
"This people truly care and want to help get every animal in their care a FOREVER HOME! They offer so much, they have a food pantry to help out the community when someone is just not able to purchase food for their pet. Donations are low right now. They are in desperate need of donations not only for the community food pantry but for food to feed the pets in their care , they need money donations so they can continue their many other programs like catch and release of the community cats or dogs they'll rent a safe trap to catch the cat , spay or neuter and release it back out to its community. If you can volunteer some of your time that would be great to have extra hands on site to help with the daily care of these animals. If you could be a foster parent and keep a pet with you til they found home , that would be incredibly helpful. If you can take part in the 8 weeks old kitten program that would be incredibly helpful.. if your a part of the community and care about animals like Sullivan county Animal shelter then join in help out there is so many different ways one can make a difference. Even something as simple as donating some of the plastic grocery store bags. If you truly want to help there's an area you can be a super hero and help out. Visit them, check their web site out. Look at all they offer . Get to know these WONDERFUL PEOPLE & WHAT THEY ARE DOING FOR OUR COMMUNITY EVERYDAY."
"I had a horrible experience back in 2016 with this shelter. However, I have been watching for years at it's growth and progress. Under new management now and the staff really knows what they are doing. We adopted a dog today and the service was exceptional. So much difference from years ago. I do hope I hit the lottery and can help support this cause because the workers go above and beyond! What a change from years ago. Our lonely dog found her best friend thanks to you!"
